Ranpo feeling better after seeing "that man" being hauled got up to thank Poe for handling the situation and decided to go to a diner across the street. Ranpo said he'd pay although Poe tried making him change his mind on the paying part. Ranpo ordered only a few things instead of his usual 5 Poe looked concerned and asked if he was feeling alright, Ranpo just said he hasn't been all the hungry recently. Poe sighed he knew something was wrong but wouldn't pry until necessary. Ranpo only poked at his food and only ate a little in response Poe took his fork that he was previously eating off of and made Ranpo take a bite even though he did t want to. Poe kept doing this until all the food was gone. Ranpo realized that he was eating off of poe's fork that he's already put in his mouth before hand and blushed at the thought. Ranpo paid and wanted to go to the flower shop to pick out some flowers for Yosano to thank her for what she did earlier. Poe jokingly said "awe why don't I get any flowers." Ranpo went up to Poe's ear and whispered I'll give you something else later, Poe blushed when he said this placing it as a tease or a joke. They walked back to the agency so that Ranpo could clock out. They then went back to Poe's place and Ranpo told him now would be a good time to give him the "something." Poe blushed as Ranpo led him to his bedroom just to give him a peck on the cheek and some cupcakes he baked for him. Poe stood there for a moment jaw dropped and then said thank you.
Ranpo ended up falling asleep on his bed later on as Poe was writing some novel at his desk. Poe wrote late into the night until eventually growing tired and crawled into bed almost forgetting Ranpo was still there. Poe woke up to find his arms wrapped around Ranpo's waist while Ranpo was still fast asleep. Poe not knowing what to do pretended to still be asleep but couldn't stop thinking about Ranpo and how cute he looked sleeping. Ranpo ended up rolling over, facing Poe and digging his face into Poe's chest while still asleep. Poe couldn't help but blush and tighten he's grip a little bit wanting the moment to end. Ranpo too woke up after about an hour or so. Ranpo blushed as he felt Poe's hands around his waist and his face in Poe's chest.
Poe woke from his "slumber" as well and apologized for his actions. Ranpo said it's fine and looked a way while blushing. Poe helped Ranpo out of bed and they walked down the stairs remembering it's the weekend and that they don't have work today. Poe wanting to help Ranpo get out of his food "problem" made chocolate pancakes and put tons of syrup on them. Ranpo couldn't resist Poe's cooking and at it all. Ranpo told Poe his cooking was his favorite and to never stop cooking for him. Poe turned bright red and agreed to Ranpo hopping his plan has worked. Ranpo got full enough to want to laze around he told Poe to sit next to him but sat closer than intended and they both sat there blushing and collectively decided to stay like that.
Poe was reading his book and working on a draft for his new novel he's working on while Ranpo watched tv. Ranpo pestered him until Poe took a break to watch tv with him. Ranpo asked Poe what his favorite channel was Poe told him the history channel and that it often gave him ideas for his books. Ranpo quickly flipped through the channels until he got to the history one. Poe blushed knowing he'd normally get bored at this type of stuff but he was enduring for him. Ranpo did end up getting bored anyways and fell asleep with his head resting on poe's shoulder. Poe too succumb to his tiredness and fell asleep on Ranpo's head. They both woke up around the same time and decided have dinner before going upstairs to sleep. Poe made a delicious meal consisting of chicken, rice, and boiled eggs. Ranpo ate it all and grew tired again so he went up to the room first soon followed by Poe. This time before falling asleep Poe intentionally wrapped his arms around Ranpo and pulled him closer. Ranpo yelped at the sudden change but didn't really mind overall. Poe asked if it was fine and Ranpo replied with a swift sure with a flustered stutter.
While sleeping Poe kept squeezing Ranpo in tighter and tighter until they where directly touching very closely. Ranpo who was still awake almost the entire time couldn't help but blush every time he was pulled in closer. Ranpo did fall asleep though and Poe was almost directly spooning him.
When they woke up though Ranpo's forehead was blazing hot and he was sweating profusely. Poe got up feeling concerned and practically ran down the stairs getting the thermometer and other things. Ranpo was panting and sweating so Poe gave him some water and a cool rag on his head. Poe then had to run to the store to grab medicine and other things like cough drops and chicken noodle soup. When Poe got back Ranpo looked a little better but still definitely had a fever so he helped him drink some more water. Later Ranpo's fever went down some and he felt better or at least good enough to sleep Poe then laid him in the bed leaving it just to Ranpo when Ranpo practically dragged Poe in the with him and they laid there face to face until Ranpo fell asleep and Poe could hold Ranpo once more.
Waking up was a different story though Poe and Ranpo's foreheads where touching and almost their lips as well Ranpo's shirt was basically off and Poe's pants where slipping. Ranpo woke up feeling better than ever and held Poe tighter before letting go and processing what had happened. Poe soo too got up a little sad he couldn't hold Ranpo a little longer but Ranpo didn't need to know that.
