No one's pov:

The morning sun arose. Overpainting the dark bluish sky with bright and playful colors. Everyone in Liyue probably knew that Wangshu Inn was the perfect spot to enjoy small things like these. Things that make your whole day seem more enjoyable and brighter.
Sadly, today was different.

Losing every ounce of strength the soldier collapsed to the ground.
He let out a painful groan as he felt the subsequent pain rush through his entire body.
Who would've thought that things would take such a turn?
It made him wonder who you truly were.
There is no way you would be human right?
The man thought to himself, letting out an ironic laugh afterward.

His gaze sprung up to the open window, one could see the rising sun behind it. A glimpse of light shone directly into the male's eyes, it felt like a sign to him. A sign that the mission still wasn't finished.
He let out a deep, exhausted sigh before sitting up off the wooden floor
"A promise?"
"Don't make me laugh."
He mocked remembering the previous conversation he had with you.
Resting his head on the edge of the bed you were lying in just a few minutes ago he started to plan his next move.
Though, his thoughts got distributed by someone storming inside the room.

It was Verr Goldet, her face turned into pure horror once she entered the mess. Her gaze swept the room, the spear stuck in the wall next to her, the empty bed next to the defeated guard, and the scratches on the floor. It was more than clear that something must've gone wrong. Turning her attention forward to the guard again she shrieked
"W-What happened?!"
With fear reflecting in her eyes.
The man avoided any possibility of eye contact with the woman. His performance with you was an embarrassment to the Liyue Qixing. Though, he knew that he had to make a move. Things couldn't stay the way they were.
Would he regret taking his next move?
Or would he pull it off with success?
This one time he would take the risk. He bit his lower lip, exclaiming
"She escaped."

Verr Goldet eyes widened
"But Mr. Baizuh said that she wouldn't be able to move for the next three days!?
Was she the one causing this mess?!"
The woman screeched, squeezing her fists together.
The man nodded.
He looked up from the ground to Verr Goldet, finally having enough courage to face her
"She said that she was feeling great shortly after she woke up, and before I even realized it she escaped"

Silence filled the room before Verr Goldet broke the awkward atmosphere
"Are you planning on capturing her again?"
The man nodded. She looked down to the floor muttering
"Qiaoxi, if that's so, please keep your distance from Wangshu Inn. This place isn't a battlefield nor a place to capture criminals"
The man sighed, but accepted his fate
"My apologies, I didn't plan things to end this way"

"What will be your next move, Qiaoxi?"
"I will inform the Qixing of the current situation, she will then be wanted by all guards in Liyue!
There is no way she will escape this easily again, I have the feeling that there is something special about her.
She isn't some normal guard I tell ya that."
The man laughed, putting his hand over his face to hide it

"I will inform him about it, just in case he encounters her again"
Verr Goldet spoke before facing the door again, opening it she looked back to the fallen guard
"Also, I will bring someone to help you with your Injuries"
She spoke remembering the state of the fallen guard.
Qiaoxi smiled, watching her as she disappeared to the outside of the room.

Once Verr Goldet entered the main hall again she let out a deep frustrated sigh.
On one side she was amazed that the guard found the person at fault, but on the other side, she was scared. How strong is she really?
Though, it didn't make sense. Xiao found her lying unconscious on the ground after encountering a group of hilichurls. Her body was full of wounds and cuts. A normal person would need days to recover from those kinds of injuries, but she still managed to fight that guard after such a short amount of time.
And escaped?
Apart from that, she said that she was feeling great?!
The woman wondered, walking down the stairs leading to the kitchen of the Inn. There, the smell of several dishes and ingredients flew in the air. Smiley Yanxiao turned around noticing the woman's presence
"Morning, is there something that you would like to eat?"
He spoke out with a bright smile planted on his face.
The woman stroke one of her hair strands behind her ear before speaking up
"Can I get one almond tofu please"
Yangxiao's happy expression darkened. He knew exactly that something must've gone wrong once he heard that dishes name escaping Verr Goldet lips
"Sure"
He muttered before he started to master the dish as usual. Once finished he walked up to Verr Goldet to hand her the plate. She thanked him and started to make her way upstairs.

As soon as she got there a loud dash could be heard from above. Before she knew it he stood beside her.
Placing the plate on the railing she started her speech
"It was her."
Verr Goldet admitted as she put her arms on the railing
"I thought so."
He sighed, guiding the spoon loaded with almond tofu to his mouth, while continuing to listen to her speech
"And…she escaped"
His gaze sharpened

"When did she escape"
He asked, with a deeper tone than usual "Probably an hour ago by now"
The lady spoke counting the minutes in her head
"In the state she was in, she could have collapsed at any second"
He continued
"Is there any other information about her?"
He asked placing his hand beneath his chin
"Qiaoxi said that she was feeling great shortly after she woke up"
Xiao looked taken aback by that response. That was the last answer he thought he'd hear

"You don't need you to capture her right away, but if you could just hold an eye out for her it would really help us"
Verr Goldet spoke staring down from the balcony to the ground

"Who is us?"
Xiao questioned, raising an eyebrow

"The Millelith guards are gonna take care of the mission to capture her, Qiaoxi thinks that there is something important about her. That's probably also why the fatui were searching after her so determined"

"Understood."
Xiao spoke before disappearing into thin air.
Leaving Verr Goldet alone on the empty balcony
"Hopefully no one is going get hurt"
She muttered under her breath, watching the sun rise to the sky
"What a beautiful sight."

A/N:
I honestly wished that Xiao would appear a bit more in this chapter but I feel like he would only really show up when he is needed with the fighting stuff:/
