If only that could've worked out...

You were lying in your new bed which was unexpectedly comfortable. Even though you intend to stay awake for a little longer you fell asleep without even realizing it.

You found yourself in a dark place. Before you, there was some kind of creature. It didn't look like a person nore a monster but it still felt familiar to your sight

"Y/N?..."
It asked, making your whole body shiver in fear. You looked at it but wide eyes but choose to stay silent.

"..."

"It's you isn't it?"
"Come in you can't stay silent forever"

"..."
You did.

"Hey, why aren't you answering me?"
"Don't tell me you forgot about me"
It spoke out wah an more saddening voice than before

"..."

"Something wrong?"

"Who are you?"
You finally managed to say

It looked at you with seriousness
before busting out laughing

Suddenly the figure disappeared into thin air.
Everything disappeared.
The floor underneath you shattered.
You were falling. Your body felt at rest even though you knew that you were about to die. Isn't that how you wanted it to happen?
Suddenly your lungs closed. Gasping for air but to no avail. It felt as if your whole body burned from the inside.
Was this really what you wanted?
Or do you regret even thinking about it?

You woke up with a loud gasp

"Finally, you are awake"

You flinched upon hearing a not-so-unknown voice beside you
"Sir…?"

Scaramouche sighed in return
"What the heck do you think you're doing in my room?"
You looked at him with wide eyes. This was his room?
Does that mean you slept in his bed?
And all of those clothes and contracts?
Quickly you crawled out of his bed before bowing to him
"My apologies it will never happen again"
You uttered, being too embarrassed to even look at his face
"There is no need for an apology. It was the Mage's fault. I will have her fired..."
The indigo-haired boy mumbled while placing his hand in a thinking position under his chin.
You bend back up to get a clear view of him. He looked extremely tired. No wonder, it was already past midnight and he worked till now.

After Scaramouche finished talking about all the Fatui guards that he is going to fire tomorrow he looked at you with confusion
"Why are you still here? Didn't I tell you to leave?..."

"My apologies"
"Just shut up and leave"

You did as he politely told you to and left.
But after doing so you noticed that you still didn't have room to sleep in.
'Do I have to sleep on the hallway carpet now?!' You asked myself with disbelief.

Just as you were about to leave to go find a better place to stay, someone bumped into you from behind.
They let out a scream in return
"AHHH A MONSTER, FUCK ITS MOVING AHHH DON'T GET TO ME I AM INNOCENT PLEASEEEE!"
You jumped back in surprise now noticing that it was the same Fatui Skirmisher from before. You sighed before walking up to him to try calm him down.

Suddenly you heard some steps coming from Scaramouche's room.
Within seconds you dragged the Skirmisher with you to hide behind a wall.
As expected, Scaramouche did hear him. He slammed the door open with his foot only to find no one but an empty hallway.
"Fuckers..."

You let out a sigh of relief after hearing him close the door with a loud bang again. Wiping a sweat tear off your forehead you turned your head to face the Skirmisher again. pulling your hand away that was shutting him up just now you spoke
"What the heck do you think you're doing?! Screaming at a time and place like this?!"
With an outraged tone
"Hey, I am sorry I thought you were some kind of monster. Thank you for saving me though" he anxiously smiled not knowing what you have planned next. You were his assistant after all. If you wanted to you could report his doing to your boss and get him fired easily.
Once again you let out a quiet sigh before coming up with ith a better idea
"Why don't you repay me the favor by letting me sleep in your dorm tonight?"
The guard became as red as a tomato stating
"Are you sure that's a good idea?..."
"Just don't tell anyone and it will be fine!"
The Skirmisher eventually gave in and agreed to my arrangements.

Who the hell was that?
I thought to myself before aggressively closing the door behind me.
Did Y/N have to do with it?
Must've, it was seconds after she left my room after all.
She has caused me so many problems till now. How many more is she gonna cause?!
I asked myself before walking up to my bed to try my best to fall asleep.
But naturally, it didn't work.
The thought of Y/N's sleeping face kept me awake.
She looked like she had some kind of nightmare.
What did she dream of I wonder?...
I can't even remember the last time I dreamed.
What was it like?

Where was I?

I looked around myself searching the area. I was sitting in the middle of a huge Feld that was full of flowers.

"Ah, there you are"

I turned my head to the familiar voice
"M-mother"
I spoke with a shaky voice. She looked at me with a smile in return uttering
"What's wrong Kunikuzushi you look like you've seen a ghost-"
Before she even could finish talking I fell into her arms hugging her as tight as I could.
Even though my body felt at rage, my mind felt at ease.
She looked speechless at me before putting one of her hands on my head. Smiling at me she spoke

"you are pathetic"

I pulled back upon hearing her tone change.
Suddenly her form disappeared like wax melting down from a candle.
From it appeared another human form
"Hahaha!
Look at you!
Don't act like you didn't see this coming"

It was Dottore.
He looked at me with a bright smirk saying
"Nobody will ever show you any sign of forgiveness. Especially not when you act like this.
You are hopeless."

I suddenly woke up. Drenched in sweat and gasping for air.
Sitting myself up straight I examined the area I was in
"So it was just a dream huh?"
I let out a quiet laugh before saying
"I hope that I will never dream again"
