Instead of going to school, Sevyn headed to her old tennis court in Crenshaw instead of using the one at her home, after losing her game yesterday she felt that her game was off only because her parents were in town and promised to make it to her game but instead, they missed it and she didn't want to be in the house with them so she left.

Sighing loudly Sevyn placed her headphones on her ears before grabbing a tennis ball from the cart, using her left hand she tossed the ball up and hit it against the wall, as the ball came back over to her she quickly followed the ball and hit it back toward the wall as the music played in her ears.

Making it through half the tennis balls on the cart she stopped and took off her headphones just as she heard a voice.

"That was so cool." the little girl said from the other side of the gate with her friend, the two looked no older than ten years old.

"Thank you, sweetie, what's your names?" Sevyn asked as she walked over to the two.

"I'm Mariah and this my sister Lyric, what's your name?" Mariah said with a toothless smile.

"My name is Sevyn," Sevyn said causing the two to giggle.

"Like the number?" Mariah asked.

"Like the number just spelled differently."

"Can you teach us?" Lyric asked shyly.

"Of course," Sevyn said with a smile just as the two ran around to the gate and rushed over to the wall where Sevyn had started.

"You two ever played before?" Sevyn asked while she grabbed two lightweight rackets from her bag and handed them to the two.

"No," Mariah said.

"But we watched Venus and Serena play on the TV." Lyric added causing Sevyn to smile.

"I'm gonna start to two with the basics it's supper easy okay." She said as she bounced the ball.

"Okay," they said as they started to copy Sevyn's movements.

"Well, first every tennis player has their own special tennis racket that's made for them, the rackets I gave you two are lightweight for beginners and easy to handle."

Sevyn pulled them three feet away from the wall before starting, "First I'm gonna show you then you two are gonna toss the ball up with your non-dominant hand and swing with your dominant arms."

Sevyn showed them how to do it twice before stepping over to watch them do it, "Now you two try it."

They missed the first time but Sevyn didn't let that discourage them, "that's okay try again."
