A few solid days had passed since the point in which the sergeant and soldiers had returned to the camp. Despite everyone slowly healing and a few of them becoming more mobile- Azulin had yet to actually show any signs of stirring into awareness. There were no movements, or reactions to outside stimuli of any sort.
This, in turn, took it's effort over Gordi as well. Where Gordi was barely eating, sleeping, or getting up to go to the bathroom as long as his brother was bedridden. Gordi was uncharacteristically cold and had a very ill temper when he was trying to be brought away from his younger twin- even if it were only for a moment or two to do something important like using the restroom.
The nurse bears at the camp didn't seem to know what to think about Azulin's condition. Other than the physial trauma to his missing eye, lower arm, and some deep gashes over his limbs- there was no vital injuries. Not ones that should leave one comatose, by any means.
Sure, they could sum it up as the body recooperating after such a loss of blood... but that didn't seem to be the case. Azulin hadn't even needed a blood transfusion.
For most of the other soldiers, they were stuck trying to get other things squared away. Coco was in a cast, but his leg was fine- alternatively. The soldiers from the Lone Owl Troupe were offered positions on other troupes for the time being- but none of them took the offers- as they had started to get more comfortable with Sargento Caricias's presence. The awkwardness post-rescue was deafening- and luckily- it didn't last too long. Even so- healing would be the biggest obstical for all of them.
In the days past, some interesting info did come from the quintet of survivors.
A champagne blonde bear named Angelo was the middle of the remaining bears- age wise. Sitting on 16 Years old. Angelo had a sister named Satin- who had been the primary nurse to all of the ailing in the room since they had gotten back to camp.
Sedge and Pherne were both silent- sitting at 18 years old. Sedge was a small black bear with a stout form- though he could talk- he avoided it a lot due to speech impediments.
Pherne was the deer looking bear, with a bandana. Not likely to speak at all, if possible.
Mouse and Tully werethe only ones left. Tully being the middle of the age bracket- and Mouse being the youngest. More info came out about mouse, eventually- revealing that Mouse had managed to sneak their way into the camp by falsifying his age. Despite claiming he was 17, Mouse was thirteen- which essentially just made him a little kid in comparison to everyone else.
Ironically, Mouse was also the one taking death and trauma the best.. which was both worrying and relieving simultaneously.
"When is he going to wake up?" Gordi tiredly asked to everyone else in the room. His head was plopped on the mattress of the hospital bed as he kept his paws clasped around his brothers IV strapped arm. It was clear that he was exhausted, but he was refusing to sleep- in case the other finally bothered opening his eyes and saying he was alright. Hell, he would even take his brothers old version of communication in the form of slander and being berrated. Anything that wasn't his brother being unresponsive.
Was that too much to ask?
Perhaps it was...
Coco, who was starting to mobalize himself again due to his stubbornness- walked over to Gordi in his cast. He didn't bother using his crutches- it wasn't a far enough walk.
Satting down at the foot of Azulin's bed at the other side- Coco looked at the pink bear before sighing and resting his chin on his hands.
"Gordi, I know that you are a grown man, and you don't need to listen to me- but you should rest." There was a deep sigh from the bigger bear, letting Coco know that the normally nervous or jubilant sibling of the siblings pink and blue was about to either get snippy or not respond at all.
"I don't have to do anyhing. My brother needs me and I can't afford to just fall asleep- in case he needs my help and I am the only one here to see what is going on." Gordi huffed, bringing his hands up to his head. His stomach rumbled and side started to ache. Most likely due to his own bodily neglect.
Around this time, Coco was quickly entering parent mode. The blonde bear sighed, trying to barter his luck with getting Gordi to listento him. He needed to use logic and what counted to the other for the poissibility for a point of compliance. Even so, the tactic he was about to pull sounded so under-handed and manipulative that Coco nearly felt gross for considering it. At this rate, though, Gordi was going to do more harm to himself than anything else. No matter how helpful he was trying to be.
"Gordi, think about it for a minute." Coco leans forward, tapping on the bed to get the pink bear's attention on him. Eventually, they locked eyes and Coco continued."You want to help your brother. You want to be here the second he wakes up, don't you?"
Gordi started to tear up a bit before stifling a troubled sigh. He nodded to the question, all the same.
"You are doing your best, but you are only hurting yourself in the long run. You aren't going to be helping anyone if we have to hospitalize you for a bladdar infection because you aren't using the bathroom. Or for malnutrition, because we all know damn well you have not eaten anything." Coco sternly stated, before gesturing his head toward the hospitalized blue bear. "Do you think he wants to wake up to see you sick or on the brink of a serious breakdown because he was unconscious?"
Gordi sniffed and wiped at his eyes, before looking down to the white sheets on the bed. He folded his paws around azulin's hand gently, before shaking his head.
''I am the older twin, the older brother. I am supposed to be here for him and all I have done so far is let him down, and watch him get hurt. Whether it be on my behalf or someone else's. I need to at least show him that I am here. I can't do that if I go home to sleep or if I am sitting in a chair stuffing my face across the room."
All of the bears around Gordi looked between each other, before seeming to try and formulate a plan.
"Aha. We have an empty hospital bed right here. I'll go ask the nurse if Gordi can sleep on it." Achuchones went running out of the room, making sure to be as quiet as possible.
"Gordi, all of us aren't going anywhere. You need sleep, rest and something to eat. We will be here the entire time, but you need to take care of yourself, unless you want to neglect yourself to the point that you aren't here when he actually wakes up. If that happens, then everything you did thus far would have been for nothing." Coco advised with a bit of a smile, despite his troubled expression. "Take care of yourself. For both you and Azulin."
With a deep, stress exale, Gordi finally nodded, before patting Azulin's hand, and letting it go. He stood up, stumbling from the lack of usageof his legs making them sore. He moved the chair back, and just sat back down again.
Achuhchones came dashing back into the room, and stopped to catch his breath. "The nurse said we can move the bed over, as long as we leave it on the side of the bed without the IV fluids. They shouldn't need to come in to bandage up his missing arm for a little while. "We can move it over now if you-"
Looking over at Gordi, the pink bear was already asleep, leaning his head back into Coco's bed, as he had dozed in the guest chair that was moved a second ago.
"Let's just ask him later..."
