You and Jolteon were at the market with your friends walking through the market, most of your Pokémon stayed home for an off day away from school.
Jolteon hopped onto your shoulder and rubbed up against your cheek happily, Lillie was walking beside you and speaking about electric type Pokémon.
Speaking of electric types, you hadn't really seen Tapu-Koko in days for some reason. Most likely because they were still an active and working Island Guardian.
Jolteon's ears perked and he cocked his head to the left, you looked over out of impulse and saw quite a large cloud of smoke.
"Lycanroc!" A nearby Pokémon roared
"What's happening over there?" Sophocles asked
"Turta..." Turtonator said
"Only one way to find out! Let's go!" Mallow exclaimed
She grabbed Lana's wrist and began to run so you grabbed Lillie's arm and began to run to the sight. Sophocles and Kiawe walked instead.
Dad ran over and adjusted his cap, a Blastoise and Midnight Form Lycanroc seemed to be battling with each other.
"Use Hydro Pump!" The Blastoise trained called
"Stone edge!" The blonde Lycanroc trainer yelled
He seemed to have an Umbreon at his side, most likely why Jolteon was interested in what was going on.
"A Pokémon battle." Kiawe pointed out
"A midnight form Lycanroc, awesome!" Sophocles smiled
The Blastoise smashed into a fountain and the trainer ran over frantically, the Lycanroc was unfazed so he jumped up and went back to his trainer.
"Brother Gladion!" Lillie ran towards the odd trainer
"Brother?" Lana repeated
"She doesn't talk about her family often, maybe she just didn't think to mention she had a brother?" Mallow suggested
"Let's go find out!" You grinned
Jolteon adjusted himself on your shoulder before you began to run towards Lillie, you almost tripped but caught yourself before anything could be noticed.
"Lillie?" The other said
"Alola! What's your name?" You asked
His gaze fell on you, Lillie smiled.
"This is Y/n! they're new to my class, they specialize in Electric Types! Isn't that awesome? You've been gone for months! Why return now?" Lillie questioned
"Gladion. I'm not here to stay." Gladion sighed
Jolteon looked down at his Umbreon before hopping down and sniffing around the other Eeveelution, Jolteon stepped back when the Umbreon looked up at its trainer for some sort of assessment on the other Pokémon.
"Cant you stay? Please?" Lillie asked
"I am here for training and training only, I am worried mother might find out I'm here if I end up staying." Gladion huffed
"Hello!" Mallow exclaimed
"Alola." Lana said
Gladion nodded as a sign of acknowledgement before turning and walking away, his Lycanroc barked as Umbreon turned hesitantly away from Jolteon.
"Umbre!" Umbreon said
"Jolt!" Jolteon called out
"How frustrating." Lillie sighed
"Vul!" Snowy exclaimed
"Who was that?" Dad questioned
"My big brother Gladion, he left a while ago for his training journey... I'm glad to see that he's got a strong team. I fear that he might leave forever, though." Lillie stated
"Oh! He was battling the Blastoise!" Sophocles pointed out
"I'm sure he will figure things out and come back for a short while, we're probably going to see more of him around Alola. Now, how about we don't waste the day feeling guilty for someone? You'll cheer up, Snowy will make sure of it!" Dad reassured
"Yeah! Let's go Y/n, we'll buy things for our Pokémon together!" Lillie smiled
"Sure! Meet back here soon, guys!" You waved
Both you and Lillie ran off and into a store that sold desserts for both people and Pokémon, she wanted to try it ever since Snowy hatched from her egg.
She sat down at a table after getting a bunch of sweets.
"So... about Gladion, and your mother too." You said
Jolteon and Snowy sat on different chairs conversing with each other, Lillie set her hat down on the chair and sighed.
"My mother isn't around often, it's just me and Hobbs who live at the mansion along with the maids. Gladion left a few months ago to train, I haven't seen him since. Mother works at the Aether Foundation as the president when my father went missing, she's never home. She researches on Pokémon with her team, especially Legendaries that live in alola like Lunala, Solgaleo, Ultra Beasts and Island Guardians." Lillie shared
"Island guardians?" You said
There was no way.
Tapu-Koko, if they heard about this... Tapu-Koko can get enraged easily and it doesn't always end well and happy. Last time they were in rage, a person ended up with a broken bone and it wasn't because of something of that scale.
Did Tapu-Koko know?
"Yes." Lillie sighed and looked away
"I- I'm so sorry for your situation, you shouldn't have to go through that on your own... if you need to talk I'm always here, the whole class is. Gladion must feel the same way as you but cope with it differently. If you can find him again I'm sure you guys can talk it out or something! Snowy is there for you anyways!" You smiled
"Vul?" Snowy looked over
Lillie's eyes widened and she immediately grabbed Snowy happily to hug her and Snowy didn't seem to mind it.
"You're amazing Y/n, all your Pokémon are too! You're so nice, Snowy, I'm sorry for bringing you to an environment that you might not like since we're always alone on the estate when we get there." Lillie apologized
"Vulpix! Vul!" Snowy mewed happily
"See? Snowy is always there for you!" You exclaimed
Jolteon hopped onto the table and rubbed up against Lillie's arm to try and comfort her, he jumped into your arms once the desserts were placed on the table.
"Enjoy!" Lillie said
Snowy sniffed the many different Pokémon treats and so did Jolteon before the both of them tried it out, you took a malasada and bit down on it before handing another piece to Lillie as a kind gesture which she happily took and ate.
Lillie deserved much better.
If you ever outed yourself about Tapu-Koko to the world, it wouldn't go too well.
Her mother would most likely try to get every piece of information out of you about the island guardian and Lillie would probably end up feeling worse about her situation which you didn't want at all.
Tapu-Koko must know, right? You didn't wanna bring it up incase they didn't know, what if they got angry at that moment and just started to attack?
