It was the next day and you were at the docks, it was beginning to rain lightly so Sophocles brought a large umbrella that everyone was huddled under.
"When's professor Kukui going to arrive- it's a little cold-" Mallow shivered
"Steenee!" Steenee exclaimed
"Marowak! Wak!" Marowak said
"Luxray!" Luxray roared
You didn't bring the other Pokémon since they were a little tired and wanted another off day for themselves, you took Luxray with you.
"Alola Class!" A voice spoke
"Alola!" Everyone shouted
Luxray roared once again before flicking his tail and using Discharge on Togedemaru so she wouldn't get cold and waste all her electricity before anything happened.
"Sorry for being late! The helicopter should be here pretty soon, we're heading to the Aether Foundation today!" Dad announced
Lillie's smile dropped as everyone began to ask questions excitedly, Snowy went deeper into her arms and Luxray nuzzled her leg.
A helicopter landed near everyone and the door immediately opened, once Sophocles closed the umbrella everyone began to rush inside.
Kiawe must be cold, there was no way he couldn't be cold.
You sat down beside Sophocles on the plane, he was going on about different Pokémon that the aether foundation took care of along with the weather.
Luxray sat in between your legs looking out the window, your dad sat at the front of the plane with the pilot.
The ride wasn't too long, you made it to the aether foundation landing pad pretty quickly, everyone got out and into the building so they didn't get too wet.
"Alola class!" A girl said
"Alola, I'm professor Burnet. That's Professor Wicke and Professor Faba! You guys will be spending a day here!" Professor Burnet informed
"Greetings little Lillie!" Professor Faba took a step towards her
Luxray growled and you pat him on the head so that he'd get in between both him and Lillie to keep some distance between the two.
"Don't call me that, Faba. I'm not a baby." Lillie frowned
"Faba, stop annoying the kids. So! We'll be heading to Lusamine's office and once she's finished with calls we'll get going. Is that okay?" Professor Wicke asked
"Yeah!" Everyone said
Faba walked away from Lillie and you walked over to her, Snowy didn't look to happy about the encounter with him.
"I don't like that guy, he gives off some sort of energy." You stated
"I do not like him either. He is constantly calling me names I had went by as a baby, he's also always trying to get something out of me." Lillie sighed
The both of you began walking with the group into elevators and down dark hallways, the aether foundation seemed very gloomy when it rained.
Quiet sounds of Pokémon roars could be heard throughout the place and that seemed to put Luxray on edge.
You stuck a hand into your pocket and hung back from the group before looking at your Z-Ring and Tapu-Koko's poke ball.
Taking action isn't what you'd be doing on this visit, you just wanted to see where things were and how things worked.
"In here!" Professor Burnet smiled
Professor Wicke opened the door to reveal Lusamine at her desk, she seemed to be on a phone call with someone.
Different pictures of different things were hung on the walls, you gave a reassuring smile to Lillie before going over to Kiawe.
"I don't like this." Kiawe shared
"I don't think much of us do, it's eerie. Lusamine and Faba don't seem to be too... welcoming." You sighed
"I'd suggest keeping Luxray close." Kiawe said
You looked over at Luxray who was being pet by Professor Wicke, he seemed to be enjoying it and trusting her so why wouldn't you?
Dad was probably back at Melemele enjoying his time.
You sat down beside Mallow and Steenee who were eating some food brought out for everyone, you took a piece and ate it before smiling at Mallow and Steenee who smiled back.
Luxray roared at you before seeing Lusamine stand up straight.
"Alola, kids! Sorry about that, you I'm Lusamine! The president of the aether foundation where we take care of injured Pokémon! Our operations plan to make Alola a better place along with figure out Alola's full history! About Ultra Beasts, Island Guardians along with the sun and moon." Lusamine shared
"Alola!" Everyone exclaimed
"What do you mean by Ultra Beasts and Island Guardians?" Sophocles asked
"One of our many goals here is to figure out Alola's past along with the Great War between Ultra Beasts and Island Guardians. Ultra Beasts aren't exactly Pokémon, they live in different dimensions and universes. The island guardians hold most of those secrets which is why we are usually exploring the alter of the sunne or the ruins of hope, abundance, life and conflict to try and figure out parts of the past." Professor Burnet explained
"The island guardians are able to share things telepathically and form connections with people and Pokémon, much like a trainer and Pokémon sharing a mega evolution stone or Z-Crystal. Those Pokémon are linked to each other. If we're able to find out how exactly to form a bond between people and the island guardians we are going to uncover so much more about Alola!" Professor Burnet smiled
"Oh, Lillie! You've grown so much! Have you been good? Are you going good in your classes?" Lusamine asked
"Yes, mother!- stop smothering me!" Lillie ordered
"Vul?" Snowy mewed
"Ah! I got carried away! What time is it?" Lusamine asked
"It's time for us to go, you clearly don't know how to treat your guests so me and my class will be heading back to Melemele. Goodbye!" Lillie exclaimed
She got up and began walking out of the room, you looked over at your classmates before they all got up.
You wanted to comment, but you shut your mouth.
Luxray trotted out of the room so you quickly ran after him, being the last one there didn't sit right with you.
Luxray and you exchanged a worried glance before running up ahead towards the elevator.
"It's alright, we can have some of our own fun on Melemele!" You grinned
"Yeah! We've got a great friend group here and we don't need something else to make us happier!" Mallow agreed
"Besides, I prefer the food back at home." Sophocles smiled
Everyone began to laugh with each other happily, this friend group was all you'd ever need to succeed in your adventures.
