Friends to lovers... - Shinso x Female Reader

'Wow! Wasn't that a tight race!' She exclaims excitedly into the mic. 'The top 42 students will proceed to the next round which is the Calvary Battle! If your name is not on the screen, you can go heal up and go to the seats.' The names of 42 students pop up on the screen and the students who didn't make it through leave. 'You'll get in a team of 2-4 and each leader of the team will be wearing the points they have earned from the race around their neck or head, you can use your quirk and also, leaders can't touch the ground otherwise they're eliminated. Now, the points are on the screen and first place is Hitoshi Shinso and he has 10 million points!' Everybody whips around and looks at Shinso and he ignores them. 'So, now that I've explained the Calvary battle, I'll give you 15 minutes to get yourself into teams.'

'Finally.' Shinso grumbles as he looks around to try and spot you but then sees you on the edge of the large group, he slips through the crowd and makes his way to you. You look at him and he offers a warm smile as he stops in front of you. 

'I assume I'm needed again, oh great leader?' You say playfully, you see Shinso blush slightly before laughing. 

'Stop...' He says as he gently punches your arm, you two stroll over to two students before Hitoshi uses his quirk on them as they respond. 

'15 minutes is up! Get into your teams and we'll begin.' Shinso was on the top, you were on the right side, and the other two random students were in the other spots. As the buzzer goes, many of the teams decide to run towards your team. 

'Y/n! Your flames!' Hitoshi commands, flames lick the palm of your left hand and you shoot your flames along the ground, blocking the other teams from reaching you. 

'Hitoshi, what's your plan?' You question, getting ready to release more fire. Your best friend looks around with a focused look and clenches his jaw as he thinks, ice suddenly puts out your fire and you narrow your eyes at the surrounding teams. Todoroki shoots ice towards you and you melt it with your fire, panic fills Shinso's eyes and you look at him from the corner of your eye. 'Hitoshi, you're the leader for a reason. You can do this, just breathe.' You say as he looks at you, he hesitates for a moment before he nods. 

'Pull your fire away.'

'What-'

'Just trust me!' You sigh and nod and stop firing, ice suddenly appears and smashes into your jaw. 'Go left!' The team follows his lead and runs left. 'Now, trap them in a ring of fire.' You shoot fire behind you and trap many teams but Todoroki's wasn't one of them, the numbing pain in your jaw grows stronger and Shinso gives you a worried glance. You inhale sharply as ice hits the back of your neck and you wince. 'Y/n-!'

'I-I'm fine!' You hiss, exhaling cold air. You hear Bakugo's war cry and Todoroki and Bakugo's team start fighting. 'Where are we going next?'

'Midoriya.'

'Is that really a good idea? I mean, he has Tokoyami who has Dark Shadow.'

'He hates light so when he attempts to attack, you use your quirk and he'll back off.' You nod and your team heads over to Midoriya, Izuku's eyes widen as you approach and you stop. 

'Seems like Todoroki's been trying to get you.' Tokoyami says and you narrow your eyes. 

'At least he's not your problem.' You hiss, still exhaling cold air that was visible. Midoryia seems like he was analysing when they suddenly dart towards you. 

'DARK SHADOW! NOW!' 

'LET'S GO!' The shadowy bird then screeches as he rapidly moves towards you, you light your hand up and shoot flames at it, hitting him and Dark Shadow immediately reels back to Tokoyami. They slide by and Midoriya tries to take Hitoshi's band but fails and you reach out, they keep running and you guys skid to a stop. 

'Damn it, I didn't get any.' Hitoshi grumbles. 

'No, but I did.' You say as you hold up two bands, a 500 and a 200. Hitoshi's face lights up and he smiles as you hand them to him and he ties them around his neck. 

'Well done.' He says with a nod, you're about to melt the ice on your jaw and the back of your neck when your hand and foot get frozen. 'Fucking Todoroki.'

'We'll be taking that 10 million.' He says calmly as his team approaches but then you see Shoji's team as well. Dammit. You try and use your quirk again but Todoroki freezes your more, god it's f-fucking cold. 

'Y/n!' 

'I-I'm f-fine, 'Toshi.' You stutter as your body temperatures begin to drop. 'I-It's just c-cold.' You set your hair on fire and it burns Mineta's hand and Tsu's tongue, Shoji tries to reach but then another team dives onto them and then battles them. Shinso panics once more and he looks at you. 'D-Don't give up. You c-can do this, S-Shinso.' Ice covers your mouth and now it was definitely too cold to use your quirk. Todoroki was about to reach out for the bands but then the buzzer goes. 

'Times up! The winners are Team Shinso!' Midnight yells and the crowd erupts into cheers, the teams disassemble and Shinso rushes in front of you and there was visible distress. 

'You okay?' He asks, you try and set your hair on fire but it fails. 'Todoroki, can you use your flames to free her.' He nods and slowly melts the ice off you, you exhale shakily as you grab your arms and shake. 

'F-Fuck, t-that was c-cold.' You say, meeting Shinso's eyes. He wraps his arms around you with a sigh of relief, his body heat slowly sinks into you and he lets go but it was enough to let you use your quirk. You alight your hands and let the heat go into your skin, you sigh softly and your body temps return to normal. 

'Well done to everyone! Now, the top four teams move on to the final round but first, there's going to be a half an hour break.'
