The small family spend the rest of the next few days around camp doing some small chores and learning how to become a family, Birdie did some wash and cleaned some dishes while Jack showed Heidi the basics on how to care for a horse, the sun was setting and Heidi was chasing fireflies in a clearing nearby Birdie watched her while Jack prepared supper for them

The sound of multiple hooves approaching had Jack forgetting about the food as he took his revolver in hand and Birdie took off to their daughter the familiar grip of her gun in hand as she held Heidi in the other and made her way back to Jack. He made a point to stand in front of his daughter and keeping the two girls behind him as the riders approached

"We don't want no trouble! Just give us what you got and now harm will come to you or your family." The leader in a mask called to them only his eyes where shown

Jack tensed up but kept his face neutral and calm as he shook his head

"No." He answered simply showing he wasn't one to be ordered

"We got a hero here boys!" The leader yelled and his men soon laughed at the words as the leader turned back to the small family "Give me what you got and your daughter will live, I ain't asking again or your wife will come to hate her next few hours of life."

A chorus of wolf whistles sounded for the eight men wanted to rob them blind not knowing they wouldn't make it few more minutes to continue to breathe the air that Birdie believed they where stealing

"Do you know who I am mister?" Jack question nonchalantly he watched as the leader rolled his eyes and scoffed while leaning forward in his saddle was his men where either quite or snickered to themselves

The man tauntingly answering "Erm, no mister, should I?"

Jack smirked before reaching into his pockets as soon as his hands moved guns where drawn and trained on him but he didn't flinch or stop as he pulled his cigarette case out and a box of matches

And silently took one out before snapping it close and he soon lit the match after placing the smoke between his lips and soon smoke filled his lungs and escaped as he looked back up and told the group

"You should partner but your young or dumb I don't know which on yet," Jack said as he could hear the familiar sound of gun being readied that he knew all to well "names Jack Marston, and your currently pointing a gun at my family."

He watched as the man eyes stayed stone till they widened with shock and went to reach for his own weapon only to freeze as three barrels of revolvers stares at him as Jack drew his and Birdies own arm appeared on jack's shoulder her beloved weapon looking like it was frozen in time as it never faltered or shook

The men became like little boy in trouble with their parents as the ones holding their weapons dropped them and all hands raises to the air shaking slightly as their body's riddled with nerves

"Now I'd suggest y'all turn around and leave us be and I'll let y'all live to steal from another that's not my family, but I promise I'd I get any word you stole from anyone I love then I'll kill ya." Jack said calmly, "but if you don't leave us I'll just give you this fair warning, the lady ain't so kind."

All the men's eyes where shifted to the mamabear who's own eyes where as sharp as daggers and fill of rage some of the men believed they saw the gates of hell opening for them in her dark irises all while she looked innocent as a flower holding her daughter to her side as the child played with the ends of her hair with a tiny smile
