Hello summer and more frequent updates ;)
-------------------
~*Ashton's POV*~

Mr. Malik.

This richest man around.

I gripped the folder with all the information tightly and walked to the front door. I reached my hand up the door to knock. The door swung open right before my fist hit the freshly painted wood.

"Good evening Mr. Irwin, we have been expecting you."

A man dressed in a tux, I'm assuming the most stereotypical butler there is, was standing before me.

"Yes, I have the documents for Mr. Malik."

"Please come inside."

I walked in and was led to a room bigger than where I live.

"Sit down. Mr. Malik will be with you in a moment."

I sat down but felt uncomfortable with all this expensive furniture surrounding me.

"Ah, detective Irwin. I was expecting you."

I nodded and thought back to the butler almost saying the exact words earlier.

"Here is all the information requested."

I handed the folder over to the other man. He nodded and began flipping through the folder.

"Thank you. You may leave."

The butler escorted me outside and shut the door in my face. Alright then. I had a few days before my vacation so I still had to work.

I went into my office and began organizing my files from other cases. I wanted to get those turned in as soon as possible. The other customers were not as demanding as the Stalking Styles case.

It wasn't to long before I was called in my boss's office. I let out a small groan before entering.

"Good evening Detective Irwin. Please sit down."

I walked to the chair across from his desk and sat.

"As you remember, you took a bit longer than asked with your most recent case." Mr. Brown said.

I slowly nodded.

"I gave the information to Mr. Malik and he was not happy with the information or the time it was received."

"Sir, I gave him the information at 2 o'clock. I'm slightly confused on why he was not happy with this time."

"He is one of the richest men there is, and you slacked off on the time limit and pushed it. Obviously you didn't get enough information to please him."

I was taken aback. Yesterday my boss was praising me and today he's acting like I didn't even try.

"I apologize, what would you like me to do?"

My boss sighed.

"There is nothing you can do. Leave my office and find another case. There are files of unfinished cases. Find them and get them finished." He said and I left without another word.

I found the cases and grabbed a random one pulling it out. Flipping it open, I looked at the name. As normal, I didn't recognize them so I pulled up google and typed in their name. Many results came up on many different social media sights. It was obvious most of their life was online.

I filled out most of the information requested purely from these websites. By the time I looked up from my work, I noticed most people already left. I put the folder away and decided to head home.

The next few days were the same as before, filling out missing information from social media. I didn't go on any cases that required me to leave the office. Before I knew it, it was my much needed vacation time.

I have been ignoring Calum lately and only focusing on work. As soon as I got off work, I texted Calum I'm coming the next day. I booked the same hotel as before for the next few days and soon, I was on my way back to that old town.

As soon as I pulled into my hotel, I immediately went to the room and put my stuff away. I grabbed my phone and texted Calum.

To: Calum

I'm in town, want to meet up somewhere?

It wasn't long before I got a response back saying to meet at the park. I grabbed my wallet, keys, and phone before heading out. I saw Calum at the park and went over to greet him.

"Hey Calum, how's it going?"

"Good." Calum said looking around me.

I turned to try to figure out what he's looking at and soon noticed it was the boy I was investigated. I stiffened up but then remembered I'm off the case. I need to act normal.

"Hey Harry. Glad you can make it."

Harry gave me a small glare and turned to whisper to Calum.

"What the hell is he doing here?" He said not so quietly.

I mentally rolled my eyes as Calum hit Harry's shoulder and told him to be nice. I walked over to the swings that were conveniently placed next to the two other boys.

I pushed myself backwards and began moving my legs to go higher. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath.

"Just give him a chance." Calum whispered behind me.

"Fine. But something is off about him." Harry replied.

"I'm sure it's okay."

"Whatever."

The two joined me on the swing set and not much was said.

"So." Calum tried to start a conversation.

"Where do you work?" I asked Harry.

"I'm not telling you, for all I know you're some psychotic stalker with no life who wants to murder us."

Calums jaw dropped.

"Damn it, you caught me!" I laughed. "If I was a psychotic murderous stalker I feel like that would've been the wrong thing to say to me. Lucky for you, I'm none of those so don't feel the need to sleep with your eyes open."

Harry continued to glare at me and attempted to hide his smile. I winked at him and Calum was oblivious to the exchange.

"You know, maybe this wasn't a good idea." Calum spoke.

"No, it wasn't." I said. "But maybe bad ideas can turn good."

The two gave me an odd glance but ignored it.

I needed his file back to change something.

Relationship status: soon to be mine.
