Chapter 0: Some Background

Hi! Before I begin my story, I just wanted to lay some things out for you. This is a Hogwarts Kpop fanfiction, where Kpop idols attend Hogwarts! Some things to know:
• In Korea it is normal for the wife to keep her family name once they marry, and the kids will have the father's family name
• In this book idols will date, break up and fall in love, this does not mean I am shipping them in real life
• There will be bullies in my book. This does not mean I think the idol would ever actually bully anyone in real life, I just couldn't make everyone angels
• I will try to comment the group name every time a new character pops up so people who don't stan all the same groups as me can know
• <This means they are speaking English>
• If an idol left their group or the industry altogether after January 1st, 2023 they will still be included in my book
• Please don't get offended on how I portray any of your favs. I only included idols I respect (I stan most of them), so know that I am not trying to bring certain groups down
• For some idols I use their birth names (Lee Minho of stray kids) and for some idols I use their stage names (Dokyeom and Hoshi of seventeen) this is just my personal preference
• Hate towards ANY group or soloist is not welcome
• I will include a song suggestion with every chapter! These are songs I really like, and I would love it if you could give them a listen (Sotd= Song of the day)
• This is my first book on Wattpad! Comments and corrections are appreciated :)

How I chose to sort:
• For the most part, the really good dancers are really good quidditch players
• Some idols are sorted because of how they look, some because of personality, and some because of their music (for instance, Hyunjin of Stray kids has a cute and funny personality like Hufflepuff, but I thought he would look cool in Ravenclaw)

What I changed about Hogwarts and the wizarding world
• Students go to Hogwarts at the age of 12 (one year older than the original book) and graduate at 18
• Hogwarts is located in Seoul, South Korea
• Foreigners(non-koreans) attending Hogwarts are usually Muggle-born. This is because most of the Asian wizarding community lives in small wizard towns in Korea
• I created and expanded on various magical creatures, as well as making up some spells
• Although Voldemort does exist, he is not Tom Riddle, and he did not disappear because of Lilly Potter sacrificing her life (you'll find out more about him in this book and the books to come)
• Completely unrelated idols who have the same last name are sometimes siblings (Choi Yeonjun, Choi Sungcheol and Choi Lia are all siblings)
• I kept most of the teachers the same, but most other people are different (the minister of magic, defense against the dark arts teacher, ect. are all different)
• I added a Valentine's day dance that wasn't in the original book (this was for more drama and some fun lol)

Korean words to know (If you don't already):
Hyung 형: Older brother. What a younger male calls an older male he is close to
Unnie 언니: Older Sister. What a younger female calls an older female she is close to
Oppa 오빠: Older brother. What a younger female calls an older male she is close to
Nuna 노나: Older Sister. What a younger male calls an older female he is close to
-Shi 씨: Sir/ma'am. It is added on to the end of someone's name if you don't know them very well (Eunjin-shi, Namjoon-shi)
Sunbaenim 선배님: Older student. A first year will call a second year Sunbaenim, and a second year will call a third year Sunbaenim, and so on (Can also be said as Sunbae or simply nim.)
