"First years, over 'ere!"
Hoshi and Felix waved to Jackson and set off after the huge man, pressed together from the crowd. They had been on the train longer than Felix had realized; the sun was slowly easing toward the horizon, casting a orangish glow down on them.
The huge, hairy man led them to a deep blue lake, 12 boats parked outside. "Four to a rowboat! Come on ner, I don't want no shovin'!"
Felix and Hoshi managed to squeeze through the crowd, joining two girls in a rowboat.
The girls both looked nervous, and Hoshi and Felix pretended not to look at them. Felix looked for a paddle to row, but the boat began to move forward on its own.
"Watch out fer the giant squid!" The huge man called cheerfully. One of the two girls squealed, turning to her friend, "Did you hear that? Giant squid?"
The other girl, who seemed not to understand Korean very well, looked even more nervous.
Felix exchanged a look with Hoshi, and Hoshi gave him a shakey grin. This is Hogwarts, he seemed to say, we have to get used to it.
Felix thought about his boring muggle school at home, and he grinned back. This place had a real giant squid!
"When we round the bend, yuh'll get yer first glance at Hogwarts!" The man called from ahead.
Felix and Hoshi leaned forward, eager to get a glimpse. Up ahead, he saw students gasp and stare in awe, and when he finally rounded the corner his breath caught.
It was a huge castle, with stone spiraling towers, and magnificent meadows surrounding it. Felix could barely see Owls flying through air, swooping in and out of towers. On one side of the castle, Felix recognized the faint outlines of a quittich field, and on the other a dark, forboding forest.
He stared at the castle the whole way to the shore, then jumped out of the boat quickly, butterflies in his stomach.
He turned to Hoshi, and walked straight into the guy in front of him. Felix bumped backwards, "Sorry, I-"He broke off when he saw Choi Yeonjun turn around, Minho at his side. "Look where your going, huh?" Yeonjun snapped.
Felix felt his temper rise, "I said I was sorry, okay?" He looked away, not wanting to start a fight.
Yeonjun studied him for a moment, then laughed, "are you gonna cry again? Like when you said bye to your mommy?"
Felix's eyes snapped to his brother, who looked shocked, staring at his friend. Minho had told Yeonjun about Felix crying. Felix felt his cheeks grow warm with embarrassment.
He felt Hoshi's arm on his shoulder, steering him away. Minho's face straighted back to a jeer, matching Yeonjun's face. "Just ignore them," Hoshi said quietly, "do you know them?"
"Yeah," Felix replied, glancing back on last time. Minho was whispering to Yeonjun, and he looked a little bit sorry. Who cares? He still told Yeonjun about it, Felix thought angrily. "He's my twin brother."
Hoshi's eyes widened, "really? Which one?"
Felix pointed at Minho, who was ahead of them now, moving towards the castle entrance. "His name is Minho. The other one is Choi Yeonjun."
"What a jerk," Hoshi said, "if I'm in the same house as them I'm dropping out."
Felix grinned, suddenly overwhelmingly glad that he had a friend. "Let's get the same house, okay?"
Hoshi grinned back, "Yeah, okay."
The huge man, who finally introduced himself at Hagrid, led them up the path and into the huge doors. Felix looked around, trying to see everything at once; the statues of armour, the paintings, and even a silvery ghost flew straight through the wall, which caused some girls to squeal.
