Chapter 4

I could feel the nerves building behind me the closer we got to the front of the building, a hum of voices as members and staff prepared for the crowds. I walked a little in front, guiding them down hallways, through doors, all the while feeling my nerves building for them too. This was a big deal with a performance and up for nomination in a foreign country. The expectations on themselves to get everything right was immense. There was motion behind me, someone increasing speed to catch up and I knew who it would be even as he neared and I felt his breath breeze past the skin on my neck.

"It's after 730pm," Jungkook said quietly as he walked past me, a throw away comment apart from the fact I knew it wasn't. He slowly walked backwards, away from me but facing so he could see my response.

"Hmmmm, it is. Are you asking if I'm yours now?"

"Maybe."

"Then, yes Jungkook, I'm all yours."

"I like hearing that," he smirked, turning to face the front so he didn't fall over anything but glancing back over his shoulder. There was a definite confidence in the way he moved when he was dressed as Jungkook the KPop idol as opposed to Kook. Like sex on legs. And what legs they were.

I was laughing to myself, when we rounded the corner, the noise from outside starting to permeate into the hallway we were walking.

"OK everyone, we're almost there. I know you've done this before and I'll guide you along the carpet. Is everyone set?"

"Just a moment," Namjoon said and gathered the members close for a quick pep talk. He was quite the leader, calm, intentional with his words, encouraging and he had an aura that was commanding. He was perfect for his role and I already felt strangely attached to him, to all of them.

After the huddle they turned and nodded. "Now we're ready to go."

"So, once we're out there I'll always be closeby but you'll be awesome, everyone will love you," and their eyes were a little large but they nodded their thanks and I pushed the door open, walking, feeling them following me as we stepped onto the carpet, cameras flashing, voices raised.

"BTS, BTS, over here."

"Smile please."

"Looking this way."

I guided them into position before moving out of the way of the cameras, marvelling at how they had gone from nerves, straight into professional mode, all looking stunning. I knew all their names now I was sure and they seemed to know where they needed to stand, Jungkook dead centre. It was nice that my job was to watch them closely because I didn't need to pretend I was looking, I was paid for it and I took advantage of that, admiring them as they did what they all knew how to do.

As soon as a large number of photos had been snapped, I showed them where to walk as they were stopped for a few impromptu interviews with journalists from important shows. Namjoon did most of the talking but occasionally one of the other members said something in Korean that he translated for them or used a phrase they'd practised in English. I found my nose scrunching fondly when they did that, always enjoying how cute it sounded and how hard I knew they probably worked to remember those words.

"And you have a large female following, women of all ages. How do you go about dating amongst all that extra attention?"

My eyes narrowed, paying close attention to the shift in the atmosphere amongst them all. The smiles stayed in place but I had a feeling this overstepped what they were comfortable answering.

"ARMY are amazing aren't they?" Namjoon answered. "We are very grateful to all out fans."

"And that's it, thank you," I said, nodding to the reporter, guiding them with my hands away to the next interview.
