Heavy angst, kind off?

Blood, injury, death, the usual.

-----------

This wasn't how the day was supposed to go.

No day should ever go like this.

The tasks had seemed so simple, even if he fully disagreed to even take his child out that far away from their home. But exploring a new biome seemed a lot more harmless than that stupid task of killing 30 mobs or exploring two dangerous dungeons. They were just getting ridiculous at this point, let's be real here.

With every passing day it seems like they want these poor children dead more and more, and it pisses Phil off so much. Their task was to protect the dragonlings until the mother dragon comes back, why are they being told to fight stuff with the kids?! Who comes up with this shit?! Because Phil has some choice words for that person!

Okay.

Deep breath.

Stay calm.

He sighs and looked out over the still waters, steering the boat he, Chayanne and Tallulah were currently using to reach a new biome. It was nighttime, so right now being on water was a lot safer than land. Especially with the rumors of new, dangerous mobs having been spotted by other parents. Tallulah was happily playing around with Chayanne, both currently having a wild drawing contest in their notebooks.

The playful bickering managed to calm him down somewhat, easing into the familiar sounds of laughter from the two children. He's been babysitting Tallulah all week, her father busy with his work. Usually he made time for his daughter, but apparently this week was so busy that he couldn't do anything apart from the daily phone call to ask how his daughter was doing. He was trying to be a good father, that's all that mattered to Phil, who happily took care of his granddaughter every day. Chayanne was doing his best to help, being an amazing uncle that always keeps her safe and entertained when Phil had to work on the farm or right now, had to steer the boat.

The sky was slowly starting to brighten, signaling the end of the night. At least daytime was still mostly safe, even if he had encountered one or two mobs that seemed unaffected by the light. He could spot land in the distance, lit up by the small homes that must be a village. "Alright guys, almost there. Put your things back into your backpacks." "Okay." "Abuelito look! I drew you and Papa!" "And I drew uncle Techno!" Phil turned to look at the books being practically shoved in his face. "Awwe that looks great Tallulah! You're getting better every day! And you pictured Techno perfectly Chayanne! We need to hang that one up in your room later."

The children grinned and began to put away all of their things, completely forgetting that this had been a drawing contest, but he was glad they did. How could he ever choose between such amazing pieces?

The village seemed to be a desert one, the sandstone houses becoming more clear the closer they got. Oh well, they can just get some supplies and wander further inland to find something new, not that big of a deal. At least they had a dock set up, so securing the boat won't be that much of a problem.

Chayanne was the first one to leave the boat, diamond armor glowing with it's enchantments and a sword ready in his hands. Phil watched him do a little sweep of the beach and dock, before turning to them. "All safe dad!" "Good job Chayanne." He was already busy tying the boat down, but he'll give his son this moment. It's scary how much the little dragonling reminds him of Techno. A much younger and more hot headed Techno, when they both had been young and ready to take on the world by themselves.
