The Future ( A Vampire Academy FanFiction)

Chapter One

~Layla's POV~

When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. I couldn't recall how I got there or even my name. I noticed that there was a boy to my right holding my hand; he looked to be approximately 24; he had brown hair and dark brown eyes, and he said,

"Hey Layla, how are you?"

I asked him, "Who's Layla, and who are you?"

The boy looked confused as he said, "My name is Aleksandr, and you are my younger sister, Layla."

I don't remember having a brother, but then again, I didn't even remember my name, so I guess I do have a brother.

I asked, "Aleksandr, can you tell me what happened to me before I got here?"

Aleksandr said, "I don't know, but from what the person who brought me here told me, you were in a car accident. Also, Mom, Dad, and James will be here soon."

I asked, "And who is James?"

He said, "Right, James is your boyfriend." Boyfriend! I had a boyfriend!

-A few hours earlier-

I was on the phone with James, telling him I was getting ready to go to his house. I was

"See you in a couple of minutes. Bye, babe." I said

"Ok, drive safely; see you later, babe." he said

I finished getting ready and put on a crop top long sleeve white shirt, some ripped jeans, and some white and purple Nike shoes. I decided to do some light curls in my gorgeous dark brown hair with highlights. I also decided to wear a necklace with the letter L that my mom gave me for my 19th birthday two years ago.

-10 minutes later-

I said my goodbyes and got in my car; luckily, I had escaped my guardians by using compulsion. Because like my mom, I have a spirit, and after I was born, my parents discovered that I was shadow cursed, meaning that I was connected to my mom and aunt. As I was driving, I noticed that someone in a black car was following me, so I drove a little faster because I was only 5 minutes away from my boyfriend's house, but then some drunk driver crashed into me.

-now back from where we left off-

A few minutes after Aleksandr said that my parents and boyfriend were coming, four people came into my hospital room and hugged me—two women and two men.

"Who are they, Aleksandr?" I asked my brother, and at that moment everyone but Aleks looked scared and confused.

"Layla, meet our parents, our aunt Rose, and your boyfriend," I said OK to Aleks and said hi to everyone else; they all said hi to me. And then someone came in. I looked at Aleks. "He is Doctor Alvarez, Layla." The doctor asked me how I was doing, and I told him it was okay; he then called my parents out of the room to talk with them.
