"Well anyways kids pick which one you want so the three of you can start your journey into the world of Pokémon." Said Professor Guy.

As soon as Joseph heard that he bolted over and picked up the generation one fire type starter Charmander. "Charizard here I come!" Said Joseph excitedly.

Cody walked around for a bit looking for a water type since Joseph picked a fire type he was smart like that. "Hmmm." Cody walked over to generation 8 and picked up the water type starter there. "I guess you'll do fine." Said Cody to the Pokeball.

"Awwwww, my friends already picked their starter Pokémon. If Joseph got a fire type, and Cody got a water type that means. I have to get a dumb grass type." Junior said disappointedly.

He walked over to the generation four starters and picked up the grass type there. "Fine I'll take you but you better be strong!" Said Junior as he picked up the pokeball.

"Well kids, you three are going to do great in the gym challenge since you picked different starter types." Brooklyn Guy walked over to the kids. "What do you mean?" Cody tilted his head

"You kids really don't know that much do you? Do you even know what region we are in?" Questioned the professor. "Uhhh." from all three boys. The Professor pinched his nose and sighed. "This is going to be a mouthful so you three listen alright." Only Cody showed some sign confirmation, the other two boys who were comparing Pokémon. "You'll tell them this stuff right kid?" Another nod from Cody.

"Alright then. We are in the Loganto region. We are near Kanto no relation, people come to this region and bring their Pokémon to this region and release them, making Loganto diverse with Pokémon from all regions living here. In this region we have a special gym challenge. Groups of three trainers form a group and take on the gym challenge, because of this we have special Pokeballs that can share exp with the other trainers in your group, since three trainers take on the challenge we have special kinds of battles called Triple battles and Tag in battles. in triple battles either three trainers can use 2 of the 6 six Pokémon in their party. So it's a 3v3 battle and if one Pokémon faints their trainer can switch in their 2nd Pokémon and if the 2nd Pokémon faints they are out of the battle."

He pauses to take a breath. "You gettin' this kid?" Cody nods because he is taking in all this info.

"Good cause there's more. In tag in battles 3 trainers pick one Pokémon each and battle 3 other trainers. During the battle you can tag in one of your teammates to battle, you know cause tag in battles? Funny right? Anyway, if a Pokémon faints one of their teammates will tag in for the other person."

He pauses again to take another breath. "You got all that?" "Yup." Cody said instantly. "Really? Not a lot of people pay attention to my explanation." Brooklyn Guy said curiously. "It was very informative." Cody remarked.

Cody sighed "Is there anything else you have to tell us. Wait, no. Anything to tell me?" Cody corrected himself. "Oh yeah I need your phones." Professor Guy stated. Cody handed him his phone and managed to get the other boys' phones.

"Here ya go." Cody handed the two phones owned by Junior and Joseph. "Look kid, you actually listened to my explanation which was nice, so." The Professor took out another Pokeball. "Are you giving me another Pokémon?" Questioned Cody."

"Technically. Here watch." The balding Professor released a small orange Pokémon that had a coat of light blue covering it which sprouted out like thunderbolt shaped arms that it used to keep itself in the air.

"This is a rotom it's a Pokémon that really likes anything that uses electricity, it's a ghost electric type that can possess electronics. Like for example a phone. Rotom!" The Temporary Professor explained. As the Professor said the Pokémon name he held up Cody's phone.

"Go into this phone! Please." At that command the Pokémon dived into the phone. After a moment a small thunderbolt shape appeared at the top of the phone and a triangular shape appeared at the bottom and a face biting its lip surrounded by a circle.

"Huh never saw that before." Observed the jack of all trades. "Is something wrong?" Cody asked worriedly. "No. It's that sometimes the faces on Rotom phones will match the things on the owner's phone." The Professor answered. At hearing this Cody smirked.

"Anyways... A rotom phone can do a lot of things like fly, be used as a Pokédex, save a person from falling any height, an-" The Professor was interrupted. "Any height?" Questioned. "Yes, even if you fell from space you would be fine." Brooklyn Guy informed.

"Can you add a rotom to my friends' phones too?" Cody asked. "I can. Buuut I don't want to." Said the Professor.

"Why not?"

"Well cause I have a limited amount of Rotoms and I only give them to people I like."

"But they also need a Pokédex too!"

"Yeah. I know that, that's why I needed their phones so I can install the Pokédex app and whatnot." He handed the phones back to Cody. "Thanks Professor, I think we need to get going now. Bye!" He waved to the Professor. Brooklyn Guy nodded and checked his own Rotom Phone. He looked alarmed and pushed the three kids out of the lab.

"Sorry kids, I have to get to my other job." The Professor spoke hurriedly. "Oh and before I forget." He quickly ran back inside. "Here." The balding man gave the three boys five Pokeballs each, then slammed the doors.

"So Cody, what were you and the Professor talking about?" Junior asked. "I'll tell you on the way back home but you two have to listen because it's important. Okay?" He looked at his two friends like a teacher talking to 1st grade kids.

"Okay okay Cody we'll listen..." Junior trailed off mid sentence. "What's wrong dude..." Joseph did the same thing. "What's wrong with you tw-" Junior grabbed Cody's head and showed him what they were looking at. "Oooh." Cody stretched out the o.

"Hey Joseph, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"You know I'm thinking what you're thinking dude."

The two boys walked over to opposite sides of a Pokémon Battle Arena and took out their Pokeballs.

The two boys threw their Pokeballs at the same time and yelled their Pokémon's names at the same time.

"TURTWIG!"

"CHARMANDER!"

"I CHOOSE YOU!!!"

END

Oh boy howdy now that was my favorite chapter yet! (Not sure anyone is actually reading this story but if so thanks! Also if you are reading this book leave at least one comment.)

triple battle explanation. So it's a triple battle from gen 5 but it's a 3v3 so each trainer controls one Pokémon and if that Pokémon faints they can switch in another Pokémon

So each trainer has a max of 2 Pokémon.

Tag in battle explanation another 3v3 but in a 1v1 format so 2 trainers battle and they can tag in one of their teammates to battle.

Not sure if that makes sense but at the first gym battle maybe it will make more sense.

Bye!
