EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM screams trauma. His life has been the furthest from easy with people being out to get him from left and right throughout his whole life. He was born into it, only being a year old when the first massacre killing happened in his home town, and immediately put in danger as the killer, years after years, was after his mother and her friends.

People fell one after the other, just like the game domino, as their friend group became smaller and smaller the more time that went on, and as killers after killers succeeded in taking their lives. He couldn't count on his fingers how many times he'd been hanging onto a thread, and each time he was just lucky that everyone had risked their own lives to save his.

Cameron learned through the years to not trust anyone, his mother, Sidney, and Dewey continuously reminding him about it. It was a good advice though as every time a new killer arrived it was always a person in their friend group. Someone who had slowly earned their trust just to be able to, later on, literally, stab them in the back. 

Nobody is surprised that the original victims trust little to no one. Especially Cameron who's whole life has surrounded these killings. If you just take a glance at the events in his life, as well as the lives of the people he surround himself with on a daily basis, you can understand his trust issues.

Cameron lived in Woodsboro his whole life, taking a part of the Stab movies that the horror fans made reality. However, the second he finished high school his mother packed their bags and moved across the country. Everyone hoped the killings were over once they had left the haunted town, no one wanting to get hurt and have their lives put at risk once again, but unfortunately the luck wasn't on their side.

Their wish didn't fulfill and once again someone got hurt. The youngest Weathers had sworn to never return to the cursed town, but as he heard about his childhood friend being in trouble, he didn't think a second thought before returning home. Cameron just hadn't expect for his childhood crush to come back as well.
