EVERYONE'S ATTENTION WAS captured by the big display that played a video that showed a quick debrief of the 1996 Woodsboro murders. Nobody said a word as they let the news sink in, everyone in shock about the news Sam shared.
Chad ended the silence in the room. "So, let me get this straight," The attention turned away from the picture of Woodsboro's infamous killer that was sitting on the television screen to him. "You're saying you're the daughter of Billy Loomis," He pointed at the raven-haired woman, eyebrows furrowed. "And what?" He continues, "That one of us is the killer?"
The oldest Carpenter's eyes traveled across the group from where she was sitting, though never fully meeting Cameron's eyes, even though he desperately searched for it.
It was hard for Cameron to know how to react to what she had told them, and also what he was supposed to do about it. His mind was a mess. The person that began all of his trauma, that tormented his life, basically ruined his family, was Sam's dad. He was shocked by the information she revealed, but it was nothing compared to the worry he felt for her. Did she want a hug? Did he want to hug her? While he was conflicted, everybody else seemed to know exactly how to handle the situation. It was as if they had a script to follow while he was supposed to improvise.
Cameron didn't know how Samantha felt about all of this. He tried to desperately understand when she had found out about her background as to understand their past. This information filled up the missing pieces in the puzzle about their childhood and teenage years, and he was sure he was able to correctly connect almost all of them. Sam's drastic change from being his cheerful friend, into a gloomy troublemaker, finally made sense.
In a way, the boy felt like he had failed her. He knew he couldn't have done much since she never told him the truth, but he couldn't help but blame himself for not pushing her into telling him the real reason she had become different.
