Letting go❜˙·✧──·✦·──✧·˙
DISLIKED WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT, because Cam hated when his parents split up. He was mad at everything. Every little aspects of life. His pencil breaking, his pizza being soggy, the rain messing up his hair, everything was his parents fault. Nothing seemed to be able to go right and he couldn't help, but blame them. His so-called 'dad', left in the middle of the night, just like his biological dad did, and let Gale and Cam wake up to all of his things gone. They both had dialed his number multiple times, but after leaving voicemail after voicemail, they settled with the truth. He wasn't coming back. He had left them without a goodbye. Woodsboro was Dewey's home, and he was always supposed to stay there, while they moved on.
It wasn't a secret that Dewey wasn't a fan of New York. Every little thing triggered him and made him crazy. You could say he wasn't used to the big city life after living on the country side. The loud noises from outside, caused by one side of the city, that ended in the early mornings, only for it to begin only an hour later by the other side of the city, had never disturbed him before. In Woodsboro the population was small and the people who stayed out late were few, so that meant that he was able to get his eight hours of sleep, the complete opposite to what he could in New York City. He was stuck in an evil circle.
The three of them pushed their problems under the rug, and not a single one of them dared to lift the subject until they were forced to due to the rug being full. It was a bad habit that Cam had learned from his parents. However, it always seemed like the best solution which made them all continuously turn to it.
"I don't want to interrupt, but is it possible to talk to you for a minute?" Dewey shyly asked as he looked at Cam. The boy nodded, turning to his mother to confirm that it was indeed alright.
Gale sent her ex-husband a tight lipped smile as she agreed. She knew they needed to talk, enlighten each other on their side of the story, even though she wanted to stay and make sure her son didn't have to suffer anymore.
