Arial's Pov

The next few days were basically the same.

I constantly found myself trapped in awkward situations with Matt; at school during lunch, walking home, and at home with Padge.

Suddenly, everything that involved Matt was awkward, and it wasn't hard to tell something was up.

Friday came super fast, school was just as annoying and boring as usual, but I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Feeling a bit ill, I was given permission to go the nurse's office during Maths.

I dragged my feet across the shiny tiles in the hallway, not paying much attention to my surroundings.

Being the super lucky person that I am, I found Matt sitting in the nurse's office, a wet towel on his forehead.

"M-Matt...what are you doing here?" I asked, not sure of what else to say.

He looked at me, his beautiful eyes made ugly by the huge bags under his eyes. I gasped and rushed to take a seat next to him.

"What's wrong?" I whispered taking a better look at him.

His usually pink lips were dry and chapped, his usually perfect hair tangled and frizzy.

He smiled but his gaze was empty.

"What are you doing here, love?" He asked in a raspy tone.

"I....I was feeling a bit dizzy..."

I stared at him for a while, then he let out a throaty chuckle and ran his fingers through his messy hair.

"I've just been a bit sick that's all....y'know with band practice and stuff, I can barely keep up with myself, as you can see...." He explained.

But I knew better.
Something was wrong.
Seriously wrong; I could feel it.

It was just a matter of time before I found out, and I wasn't really sure I wanted to.

The usual awkward walk home with Matt gave me time to analyze him, and to try to figure out the situation.

The minute he opened the front door, I hurried upstairs to try to see if Padge would spill the beans. If anyone knew what was wrong with Matt, it was definitely Padge.

I hurried up the stairs, hoping Matt wasn't behind me.

I quietly opened the door to our room and closed it behind me, not at all
prepared for what I was about to see.

I gasped loudly and let my things fall to the floor.

I stood in the doorway, my eyes wide as I tried to understand what I was seeing.

"P-Padge..?" I stuttered, running towards my brother.

His body lay unconscious on the soft carpet, with an endless amount of tiny containers scattered around. I grabbed one of the many orange containers around me and carefully read the label.

"Prozac....?Xanax..?!" My bottom lip quivered as I tried to not scream.

These were all antidepressants....

My hands trembled as I tried to feel his heart beat.

"MATT!!" I screeched, shaking so much I thought I would break.

I started sobbing, reaching for my phone and quickly dialing 911.

Matt rushed in, immediately dropping to his knees once he saw Padge on the floor.

He started yelling things at him, shaking him wildly while the tears spilled from his eyes.

I hung up once the operator let me know an ambulance was on its way.

There was only one thing on my mind at that point.

"Please be alive...please." I whispered.
