Ariel's Pov

I woke up the next day to the sweet scent of fresh pancakes.

I stretched and hopped out of bed. I tied my hair up in a bun and brushed my teeth. Then I trotted downstairs.

"Good morning..." I said nervously to Matt as I walked into the kitchen. He smiled at me and flipped a pancake in a way you see people do in movies. He turned and winked at me making me giggle.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked turning the stove off.

"Great. Well, i mean, I actually slept." I said smiling genuinely.

I stood there awkwardly, not knowing what else to do or say. I looked down at the kitchen tiles and waited for my brain to process words and put coherent sentences together.

Matt's Pov

"How'd you sleep?" I asked Arial as I turned the stove off.

"Great. Well, i mean, i actually slept." She answered. I turned to find her grinning wide with a dazed look in her eyes. Must feel nice to not have to sleep with one eye open.

I laughed, but an awkward silence came over after that.

"Mornin' ladies!" Padge yelled breaking the awkward silence.

I playfully punched his chest and he punched my side.

"So what are the plans for this weekend...??" Padge asked grabbing a carton of milk from the fridge.  He seemed completely unfazed by the recent events. He was either great at hiding his feelings or he genuinely was determined to forget about his past.

Though Padge did always keep a smile on his face, mainly because he wanted to be strong for Arial.

"Well I was thinking......" I smiled at Padge, knowing he'd catch on. We both laughed like idiots.

"Fuck yeeeeess!!" He yelled shoving an entire pancake in his mouth.

Drinking was definitely our favorite hobby.

"You up for a bit of drinking then?" Padge asked  Arial. She smiled and shrugged.

After breakfast Padge, Arial and I went to the shop to get everything we needed for our party.  I was fully aware of the fact that Arial was not old enough to drink, but I was pretty sure she knew how to control herself.

Padge and I had already called up a few friends, and those friends called up their friends and so on, so there were going to be about a few hundred people at my place.

I went to the liquor isle while Padge went to find plastic cups and plates, and Arial had the task of getting the junk food and soda.

Arial's Pov

I wandered around the junk food aisle and picked up almost everything I could get.

I picked plenty bags of Doritos, Cheetos and Funions. I also got goldfish crackers, gummy bears and Hawaiian punch.

My shopping cart was half way full of pure snacks. Satisfied with the stuff in my cart, I pushed the cart to alcohol aisle to see if Matt was still there.

And surely enough he was.

"Need any help?" I asked poking his side.

"Nope, I think I'm just about done here....what did you get?" He asked taking one last look at the aisle before leaning in to see what I had picked out.

He smiled when he saw the gummy bears. I smiled back and just stood there looking like and idiot. I didn't know what to say or do, but I had plenty of thoughts rushing through my head.

I looked up at his warm blue eyes, a strange feeling washing over me. He looked at each other for what seemed like forever.
I then realized that I was safe, and no longer needed to worry, or at least not while I was with Matt.

"There ya are!" Padge yelled ramming his cart into mine.

I quickly looked down to avoid Matt's gaze.

He cleared his throat and asked Padge the amount of cups he had gotten.

With everything we needed purchased, including the alcohol with Matt's fake ID, we drove back home in what I felt was an awkward silence.

After the house was decorated and everything was set for the party, the three of us started to get ready. Padge was the first one to hop in the shower leaving Matt and I to sulk in the awkward silence I always seemed to cause.

"You can use the shower in my parents bathroom If you want, I showered in the morning, so I won't be using it..." Matt told me. I nodded and whispered thanks.

I collected all of my toiletries and took them to Matt's parents' bathroom.

Two and a half hours later we were all cleaned up and greeting people at the door.

I looked around the crowded house. People were dancing to the music blaring from the speakers that were placed in the living room.

I looked everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found. Padge was playing beer-pong with four other guys he didn't even know, but still, no sight of him.

I walked around for ages, when suddenly someone tugged my arm. I spun around to find a glassy-eyed Matt and some red head chick on his arm.

"Arial lovee...would you be a deaaarr....and...and get this girl some clotheess...?" He slurred pointing at the red head's puked on skirt.

I scrunched my nose and watched as the girl stumbled over and sloppily kissed Matt.

I felt like i was going to be sick as I watched her shove her tongue down Matt's throat. It killed me to see it, but at the same time I just couldn't look away.

All of a sudden the girl pushed Matt away and bent over, throwing up all over the floor.

She looked up and giggled before passing out.

I rolled my eyes and turned right around, walking straight to the table where all of the alcohol, was.

I poured some coke into a plastic cup, not even half way, and filled the rest of the cup with vodka.  With no one watching me, I could finally let go a little bit.

"Here's to a good night's sleep, finally." I muttered to myself.

I downed the drink as fast as I could. It burned my throat but I ignored the sensation it caused and poured myself some more, this time without coke.

"Whoaah..!" A random guy yelled and clashed his cup with mine.

"Cheerss...to...yoouu!!" He slurred and poked my chest. He laughed like a mad man and then ran off.

After the fourth or fifth drink, I was feeling lightheaded, buzzed if you will.

It felt great, because the only thing that mattered in that moment was the dizziness I started to experience. For a moment, just for a moment, I felt almost as bad as my lousy step dad always looked, but no, I wasn't that drunk yet.

Yet...

No, screw that, I was wasted.

I giggled at Padge who was falling over trying to act like he was sober.

A few more drinks later, I was drunk out of my mind and in the mood to dance.

I ran over to Matt who was standing on a table and grabbed his hand.

Before i knew we were dancing sloppily and his hands were all over me.

Well, there goes my dignity.

Bad thing is though...

That's the last thing I remember.
