NI-KI AND CHAEWON came home from school and ni-ki was seated on their sofa while chaewon was in their bedroom.
biglang may nag-message kay chaewon.
NEW MESSAGE: "group 2 research" : guys alam ko medyo biglaan pero, pwede ba mag meetup sa bahay ko? para matapos na naten ang research natin at hindi na naten gagawin ito at relax na tayo next week.
nag-agree naman si chaewon at lumabas sa kuwarto nila para sabihin niya kay ni-ki.
"niks?..."
"hm? ano yon?"
"mag biglaang pag-meetup ang group ko sa research.. pwede ba akong pumunta?"
"oo naman! hindi mo na kailangan mag paalam sa akin! basta sabihin mo lang ako para alam ko.. ngayon na ba? pumunta ka na! baka ma-late ka pa. gusto mo ba samahan kita?"
"thank you ki.. at hindi na kailangan, may mag hahatid sa akin pag-uwi. thank you!"
"sige sige, mag ingat ka!" sabi ni ni-ki bago niya halikan ang noo ni chaewon at umalis na si chaewon.

malapit na mag 12 AM at hindi pa nakauwi si chaewon.
hindi masyado nagaalala kanina si ni-ki kasi sabi ni chaewon na may hahatid daw sa kaniya.
pero malapit na mag midnight at hindi pa siya nakauwi.
nakaupo si ni-ki sa sala nila habang hinihintay si chaewon.
it's like he was counting seconds waiting for her hoping she would come out any second now.
a few minutes passed and ni-ki felt like it's already been hours. but it was late. it was infact almost 1. he was especially worried since she hasn't texted him yet or replied to his texts.
CHAEWON'S POV
pa alis na si chaewon sa bahay ng groupmate niya but midway of them working on their research her phone became lowbat.
she thought ni-ki wouldn't worry about her. but oh was she wrong.
3RD PERSON POV
ni-ki sat near their door hugging his knees close to his chest as tears were flowing down his eyes. he was worried sick he thought something bad has happened to her again and he failed her again, but most importantly he failed to protect her.
he promised to jungwon that he wouldn't mess up again, but most importantly he promised chaewon.
all these thoughts occurred in ni-ki's brain as more and more tears ran down his cheeks.
he then heard keys unlocking the door making him shot his head up towards the door.
the door soon flew open revealing a chaewon holding a bag of snacks from seven-eleven.
chaewon's eyebrows furrowed seeing the sight infront of her.
ni-ki curled up on the floor tears running down his already tear-stained cheeks.
ni-ki hurriedly stood up immediately hugging chaewon sighing in relief as he cried more.
chaewon immediately hugged back bringing her hands to ni-ki's hair playing with it calming him down.
"niks?.. are you alright?" chaewon asked as worry filled her up even more hearing his sobs and sniffles.
"as long as i got you, i'm gonna be alright." ni-ki answered as he closed his eyes hugging the girl tighter.
"what's wrong ki?"
"i thought... i thought something bad happened to you.. i thought i couldn't protect you again and i lost my chance with you." ni-ki said with a shaky voice as chaewon pulled away from the hug and cupping ni-ki's cheeks with ni-ki's arms still around chaewon's waist.
chaewon wiped away his tears as they stared into each-others eyes.
"you'll never lose me okay? my phone died and i thought you wouldn't worry about me. i'm so sorry ki.." chaewon said as ni-ki rested his forehead on hers.
"i was so worried... atleast you're safe. i can't afford to lose you chae.. i can't."
"and you won't. i promise you. let's go to sleep okay?.."
