Reggie's POV

It had gone on for way too long. Oliver was right. I had to break up with my girlfriend. But there was only one small problem with the breaking up part. She would go absolutely crazy and ask a billion questions about why, only because she thinks she is the perfect girlfriend and couldn't possibly do anything wrong. Now, I just had to figure out a plan for how I would break up with her.

__________

A couple of days later, I had a plan for how I would break up with her. I had booked a nice campsite that I would set for a nice picnic where I would tell her everything. I was now at the picnic place, setting everything up with the help of Seb.

"Why is Oliver mad at you?" Seb asked while setting up the fairy lights. I ponder for a minute, wondering what I should say as I didn't know if Oliver had told him about us.

"Let's just say I fucked up big time," I respond, getting a weird look from Seb. "So having a nice date with your girlfriend will fix the problem?" Seb asked back, looking at the picnic blanket as if it was offensive.

"I am doing all this to break up with her," I mumbled back, only to get an even weirder look back from him. "Oh my god, you really don't understand?" I asked, looking at him and stopping what I was doing. "I like Oliver, and he likes me too, but I hurt his feelings by never breaking up with my girlfriend," I answered my question before he could say anything. He had a look of shock on his face until he slowly started smirking. "Why are you smirking?" I ask while walking to him. He didn't answer my question, nor did he stop smirking. "Seb?" Getting a bit worried. "Seb?" Seb looked at me before answering.

"I knew it! I knew you liked him back this whole time!" Seb yelled at me as I looked at him, confused as I still didn't understand what all this was about. "Oliver told me about you guys before you had your little girlfriend. Plus, I don't really understand why you never broke up with me. Like, isn't it kinda obvious to break up with her once you and Oliver started messing around?" He sounded quite disappointed in me as if that was obviously the right thing to do.

"Well, if you really want to know what happened, then I'll tell you perspective," I say in a somewhat angry voice. I see Seb nod his head to tell me to continue what I was saying.

"I mean, now, looking back, it should have been obvious, but like I was trying to figure out what was happening as I was developing feelings for both of them at the same time, and I was driving myself insane with the idea of having to pick one over the other, and I really didn't want to lose him as a friend so I pick Venessa instead of Oliver which was obviously the wrong choice, because not only did I loss a good friend but I will also break Vanessa's heart with having lead her on. I also only now realized that our break up is going to have to be public in a way because we had announced our relationship on my Instagram. FUCK!" I screamed into the air, making Seb look concerned for me. He looked like he wanted to say something, but he didn't know what to say to me. We finished up setting up before I said goodbye to Seb.

While I was waiting for Vennessa to pull up, I was in my notes app trying to figure out what I was going to say to her, and the internet said we broke up. I was getting a bit nervous as I waited for her to show up. I started hearing a car pull up, so I straightened my shirt. I watched her park the car and get out. She was wearing a beautiful yellow summer dress.

"Oh my, you did all of this just for me," she said as she approached me. "When I said we never go on dates, this is not what I had in mind." She said, grabbing my hand before I started walking her to the picnic blanket. We went to sit down where the picnic blanket was, and I offered her some red wine from the basket. We made some small talk, but she could sense that I was about to say something as she gave me a look.

"Do you have something you want to say, or are we going just to be awkward the whole time?" She asks, taking a sip of her drink. I looked down at my hands before blurting out, "We should break up." I said it as fast as I could.

"WHAT!?" she yelled at me. "Why would we do that? Everything is going perfectly. We communicate well, we have fun together, and the sex is great. What could possibly make you want to break up with me?" she put her hand on my shoulder.

"Look. I think you are an amazing person, but I just don't think this will work between us." I removed her hand from my shoulder.

"How could you date me if all you were going to do was just play with my feelings? You don't even look sad that we are breaking up." At this point, she had started crying. They were obviously fake tears. "Look at you, all you are going to do is just get up and run away to Daddy Oliver and go play with his emotions, too."

"Don't speak of him like that," I say back, knowing she is about to cross the line.

"Well, oops, looks like you already messed with his emotions."

"STOP!!" but in reality, I knew she was right. I had already messed things up with him, and I had no guarantee that breaking up with her would make Oliver want to be with me.

"Oh, now I hurt your little feelings. What is Oliver going to think of someone who can't commit to a relationship? Have you ever even been with a guy? Do you even like him like that, or are you using it as an excuse to break up with me?" She took a sip of her wine with the last of her tears running down her cheek. I could tell that everything she was saying was to try and get me to stay with her, but still, her tears were a clear sign that she was hurt over the break-up and willing to do anything.

"We are done. You can never talk to me or Oliver again." I stood up to walk away, but Vennessa's last words stopped me in my tracks.

"Did you cheat on me with Oliver?" She asked me. I turned around to look her in the eyes. She was still crying a bit. "Yeah, I did," at this point, there was no reason to lie to her. Then I walked away, never turning around to look at her again.
