The way she pulled me by my wrist hurt badly but I was more hurt in my chest. I was worried about my parents and memories of them ran through my head, Haru's screaming was a constant ringing in my head.I payed little to no attention to where I was going. My body was perfectly still but my mind was the exact opposite. Millions of thoughts were racing through my head. My thoughts didn't stop when I looked up at her and began to speak.
"Who-"
"Kanato."
"Wher-"
"SFG."
"Wh-"
"School For Ghosts."
Then reality really began to set in. It hit me like a lightning bolt. I am dead. Now I understood the harsh truths. Kanato didn't slow down, in fact, she sped up, pulling my wrist harder. I bit my lip to keep from talking. I tried to free myself from her grip by twisting my wrist but her grip only grew tighter.
Just as she was at the peak of her speed she stopped, sending me flying out before her only to be stopped because of her grip on my wrist. Her feet were planted on some sort of surface but there was no platform to be seen. She roughly yanked me down so that I was right in front of her and she placed her hand on my head only to force me down. My feet were forced onto the same surface hers were on but the earth was thousands upon millions of miles below us. Now my feet were stunned like I jumped off the monkey-bars, and my wrist was still stinging, there were red markes where she held me. I bit my lip once more.
"Chin Up."
"Wha-"
"Keep your eyes wide open."
I did my best not to blink and follow her orders. Then she held her arm out into what looked like nowhere and held her fingers in a strange yet familiar position. Kanato, the strange girl that dragged me so far up into the sky and left red marks on my wrist, gently placed her hand on my chin and held it in place. She looked at me very closely and focused. The hand that held the position, I can't find a name for, came closer and closer. My reflexes kicked into gear and She cleared her throat like a mother might to get your attention. I shuttered and looked up at her and the moment my eyes were wide enough something soft with a damp tip glazed over my left eye. Now everything I saw out of my left eye was black and white. Everything looked like a 2-D sketch, everything looked like pen outlined every figure, it felt like If I reached my arm out I would just touch paper and all I saw would crumble. The 2-D landscape I was looking at was like a simple town but also a city. The town didn't look very big but it definitely was. It had the high tech complexity of a city but it was just homes, not a single mall or store of any kind in sight. Kanato's hand moved to the other side of my face. The object glazed over my right eye too and my vision was blurred. After letting my eyes adjust I was able to see texture and everything came into its 3-D stature. I was able to see Black, White, Grays, and Blues, other colors were rare and each person had one bright color and all the rest were extremely faded so only at certain angles were you able to see that color was more than just a shade of gray. Kanato put the brush that painted my vision down. I looked down to see I was standing an inch away from the edge of the town. I was standing on the glass road that levitated above the earth below.
There were a few people- erm Ghosts I should say, that were running from their houses in a hurry and a look of panic appeared on Kanato's face and she started running to, I stood there frozen. After she ran a few meters she jumped into the air and began flying at rapid speeds. She was no longer in sight. Then in the blink of an eye we were almost nose to nose. She flicked my forehead and dashed off. A gust of wind hit me as she flew off at speeds above 100. That force pushed me off the edge of the glass road. I heard a church bell chime.
I was falling now. Oddly not at 10 meters per second squared speed all things fall at, but that is expected of a ghost right? I didn't know the whole fly float thing yet, how was I supposed to? Then there was a sudden pain in my side.
"Ow." it said.
I looked to see what hit my side. I was I guy with straight black hair. I was still falling and he caught me, after ramming his head into my side.
"Oh, um sorry..."
Still, somewhat, trying to adapt, I was frozen and silent.
"Crap, she can't see me."
I blinked as I looked into the beautiful golden eyes of the boy.
"Hello?"
I gave no response, to my demize.
"Can you hear me?"
No response.
Then the boy with golden eyes brought his hand to my face and flicked my forehead.
Everything went black.
