Is this the right place? It has to be, right?
The school looked the same all around. Sure, the signs above the door helped, but not enough as it should have.
All corners looked the same—along with all the staircases and hallways in this building. There were no distinctive features that would tell whether you were on the other side of the school or not. It was like walking through an elaborate maze.
After what felt like an hour, Y/N had finally managed to find the door labeled 2-A. Class had to have started long before she was released by the chairman, so this room had to have been packed.
She peaked inside to scan the crowd. There were various students decked out in their formal school attire. Lavender suits were worn by the men while poofy yellow dresses were represented on the women of this school.
Y/N was glad she didn't have to wear those uniforms. She imagined that it would just cause her embarrassing pain to walk around in a dress like that.
"Excuse me. Are you new here?"
Y/N jumped at the sudden voice heard from beside her. Her eyes darted towards the direction of a young woman wearing some presentable attire. A clipboard rested in her hands as she looked at her with a grin.
"U-Um...yeah. I was just looking inside is all."
Y/N's eyes trailed down towards the black lanyard hanging around her neck. An ID dangled down from it revealing a picture of the woman in front of her. This wasn't a student. This was a teacher.
"I know it looks a bit overwhelming, but once you get adjusted you'll grow to love this place. You can trust me on that." The woman reassured Y/N with a smile before extending her hand out.
"I'm Ms. Fushijima by the way. I teach mathematics here along with being 2-A's homeroom teacher."
Y/N returned the gesture. "I'm Y/N."
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Y/N. I'll go ahead and start class. Come in whenever you're ready."
She gave you one last smile before making her way inside. The more Y/N looked at her, the more she didn't seem like a teacher.
Ms. Fushijima had the demeanor of a normal high school. She was easy-going, kind, and pleasant to be around. Not to mention her appearance. She was just a bit taller than Y/N and if it wasn't for the semi-formal attire and ID, she could be mistaken for a student.
Y/N watched from the doorway as Ms. Fushijima began explaining today's lecture plans. From the looks of it she had control of her classroom. The students were able to have fun and joke around while the authoritative boundaries were still being respected.
This was a class Y/N has always dreamed of being apart of.
Ms. Fushijima cleared her throat causing the class's attention—including Y/N—to shift towards her. "But before we get that started. We have a new student joining us."
The crowd began to rise with confusion as they talked amongst themselves. Soon several students were raising their hands just to blurt out their questions anyways.
"I saw a girl head into the chairman's office earlier." A girl spoke up. "Is she the new student?"
"Wait, I thought entrance exams were closed awhile ago. How are we getting a new student now?" Another boy asked.
