Chapter 28: Crush Culture

Getting ready for tonight, I decide to put on my wrestling fit. 

Tonight is SmackDown and I am ready for what's to come.

I make my way out of the locker room and I head out towards the lounge room. That's where most wrestlers go when they are waiting for their turn to wrestle, make an appearance, or just relax and watch the show in general.

When I walk into the room I glance around at all the people standing and sitting around. My eyes catch a glimpse of dark purple and secretly I'm hoping it's Dominik.

I turn around fully to face the person with a smile on my face.

"Never thought you'd be that excited to see me!"

"Hey Balor," I say with disappointment in my voice.

"Why so sad now? I think I'm pretty great," Finn smiles at himself proudly.

"You're great," I reassuring say to him, "you just weren't who I was expecting," I laugh off. I glance around the room some more noticing some people talking. Some of them I wouldn't even imagine them being friends, but they are getting along great.

I see Finn smirk in the corner of my eye, "You mean someone else in the Judgement Day? Possibly that person's name starts with a D?"

"Damien? No," I smile as I answer. Sometimes I really question if Finn is okay in the head, I swear he suffers from memory loss.

"What? No. I meant Dominik. Why are you so complicated," Finn jabs at me while laughing.

"Shhh! Don't say it so loud!" I hush Finn shoving him in the shoulder.

He looks over at me and smirks some more. He shakes his head while smiling before speaking again," How cute. Who would've thought? Someone has a little crush on Dominik."

I look at him with horrific eyes, "I do not! I just don't want people thinking I do, that's why I shushed you," I try to defend myself with a confident voice.

"Okay, whatever you say. But I will just say- I am not blind. I see it all."

"It's called acting."

"What about the non-work conversations?"

"Can we not be friends?"

"And the hanging out at each other's houses? Now that's a bit much."

"It was just one time! Maybe... two..."

"Not to mention you both agreeing to pull off this story of you guys 'fake dating'."

"Once again, it's acting!"

"It's true love!"

I cringe at his words. Like I said earlier- not okay in the head.

"It is not!"

"It sure is," Finn wiggles his eyebrows at me and looks over my right shoulder. He glances at me with a smirk.

"What-?" I begin to question.

"What are you guys arguing about?" I turn as I hear another voice come into the conversation.

I look up a bit to see that Dominik was standing there.

"Uh... nothing," I send a warning glance to Finn telling him to keep his mouth shut.

Finn looks back at me with a smug look on his face.

"Why does he look like that? Is he broken or something?" Dominik asks me while looking at Finn weirdly.

"No he's fine. He's great actually! Remember earlier Finn? You're great!" I try to play off.

"Oh yeah, Zoe is agreeing with me then. I am great!" Finn puffs out his chest a bit trying to look timid.

Dominik creases his eyebrows in confusion," You guys are hiding something from me, what is it? Just tell me," Dominik looks me in the eyes pleadingly.

"Can't it's a secret for just me and Zoe to know. Sorry Dominik, guess you'll just have to find out someday," Finn says in a teasing but taunting way.

Dominik looks back at me hoping that I would tell him, I just shake my head while smiling.

"Sorry, what Finn says- goes."

"Wow, I see how it is. You're both teaming up on me, real nice guys." Dominik fakes being hurt by us.

Dominik then is called over by someone across the room leaving me and Finn alone. Finn slowly turns towards me with a grin on his face.

"Don't even. I don't want to start this argument again. I don't like him, end of discussion," I say with a hint of seriousness in my voice.

"Why didn't you tell him what we were talking about then?" Finn says accusingly.

"Because that's weird. How was I supposed to say it? "Hey Dom, we were just talking about how Finn thinks I have a crush on you." No that's dumb and weird. It would've made it uncomfortable while working with him."

Finn shrugs his shoulders, "If anything happens- don't say I didn't tell you so."

And with that Finn walks over to where Damien is standing, sending a quick wave to me.

As if on cue Dominik walks back over.

"Just heard word that something big is going to happen again tonight, but this time for you. So be prepared," He claps me on the shoulder before heading out of the lounge room.

This better be good.
