Chapter 21: I Really Don't Care

It's been a week since the meeting happened and I haven't heard anything from Vince or Dominik. I don't know if I should feel worried about that or relieved.

I walk out of the locker room and make my way down the halls. I travel around till I spot the room I am looking for.

I look around to make sure no one is looking before sliding into the room.

I quickly turn around to make sure no one is ready to wring their hands around my throat again, just like the last time.

When I turn I see someone looking at me with bewildered eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Dominik asks slowly.

"We need to talk," is all I say walking over to where he is sitting. I sit down and look at him.

"Ok... just make yourself comfortable I guess," he replies with a snarky attitude.

"What am I supposed to do with this whole thing," I wave my hands around circling Dominik.

He looks at me with a confused gaze, "I thought you were the one who was in charge. I agreed to it, the rest is out of my hands."

"You agreed to something you're not even sure what it consists of? Why would you do that? What if I were to think of a crazy idea and expect you to follow through with it?" I retort.

"Well, I agreed in the first place, so I might as well do it," Dominik shrugs his shoulders.

"Really?" I state in disbelief.

Dominik gives me a look, "Yes. Really."

"Do you really not care what happens?"

"No. Not really. Just make it interesting," he waves me off.

I look at him with a disgusted look, and it takes him a few seconds till he notices my change in behavior.

"Yes?" he asks when he sees me staring at him.

"You will not wave me off like that again. I came in here with a lot on my mind, and I came in here hoping to have that relieved. But instead, I have more put onto my plate because you, Dominik Mysterio, are too lazy to do it yourself."

Dominik looks taken aback by what I just said, "Too lazy? I do more than what you know. Heck! I probably do more than you'll ever do here."

My mouth falls open in shock," What is that supposed to mean?"

Dominik stops and looks at me, realization hitting hard in his eyes.

He opens his mouth to speak but closes it before opening it once more, "Nothing. I didn't mean it, it just slipped out of my mouth, sorry."

"Well, you sure said what was on the top of your mind, didn't you? That's what you were thinking, no denying in that. Thank you for being honest. I think I am going to leave now," I say before getting up and leaving before I either say something or do something.

Dominik calls for me, but I continue walking away. I reach the door and leave the room. I walk back towards the locker rooms hoping to find a familiar face.

The one person I didn't want to see in that moment came around the corner.

"Hey girl, how ya doin over there," her accent gets me every time.

"Hi Rhea, I am alright," I blatantly lie.

"That's good. How are you feeling about our match today? Are you ready? It's going to be interesting!" Rhea speaks with full excitement.

"I'm so nervous I am going to mess up, but I think I am more ready than I ever will be. I've been overthinking it for the past couple of days, oh how excited I was!"

"Was? Are you not excited anymore?" she says frowning.

"Just some things are going on, but I will be okay."

Rhea looks down the hallway I just came from and she turns to me with a glint in her eye.

"It wasn't Dom, was it? It'll hurt him if it was. I don't care if we are on the same team; tell me, what did he do?"

"No, nothing- he did nothing. We were just talking about business stuff, everything is fine with that," I send her a fake smile.

"I think I should get going though. Our match is coming up in about an hour and I have nothing ready!" I exclaim before saying my goodbyes and running off to my own get-ready station.

"Have fun!" I hear her saying while I am walking away.

Making my way over to the hair stand, I sit in the chair while they work their magic on my hair.

I hear someone clear their throat and I look over to see the one and only- Triple H.

"Hello, Miss. Burnt. I am Paul, better known as Triple H."

"I know who you are," I say with stars in my eyes. This man is a legend, he has carried the whole WWE on his back at one point in his life.

"Well, do you also know why I am here," he chuckles at me.

"No. No sir, I do not."

"I was sent here by Vince actually. He told me about you and Dominik's thing going on. I think it is a great idea, but you have to put your all into it to make it great. You have no experience doing this so I don't know why he put this on you, I am so sorry." He apologizes.

"It's all good," I say with a smile.

He smiles back at me before continuing, "So I was thinking. What if you and Dominik put this story into my hands, let me do my magic, and see what happens? If it works- it works, if it doesn't work- well then. Someone is out of a job," he laughs at the end.

"You would be willing to do that?"

"Sure am," he simply replies.

I look up at him with stars in my eyes again, "I would be honored if you did that for me."

"Then it's a deal," he puts his hand out.

"It's a deal."

He does one last wave to me before heading off to who knows where.

I just put my career into Triple H's hands. This is the greatest thing that could have happened to me. With his help, I can do so much more stuff now.

I think this is going to go well.
