Chapter 30: Watch

Rhea grabs a handful of my hair forcing me to stand. I oblige and stand, only to be knocked on the ground again.

"The more you resist to fight me, the more Zoe will get hurt," Rhea snarls towards Beth.

I feel an elbow slam into my abdomen and I roll to my side in pain. Looking up at Beth, I notice that she doesn't have a single glint of sympathy in her eyes for me. Edge moves to stand beside Beth, not doing anything to stop Rhea either.

I feel myself get kicked in the side repeatedly before they slowly recede.

Rhea slowly lifts her head to Beth confused. Rhea glances down at me and then lifts her eyes back to Beth. Beth stares Rhea in the eyes, not even acknowledging me lying on the ground hurt. Rhea just scoffs at Beth before turning to Dominik, I watch her raise her brows to him signaling something.

Dominik looks at me with a sad look and then turns slowly towards the ropes. I watch the Judgement Day make their way out of the ring one-by-one. As they walk by Rhea stops abruptly. As she turns to look at Beth she raises a mic," I'm not finished with you, but I am finished tonight," Rhea turns and looks at me. I slowly sit myself up and grab my arm to act hurt. "And you, Zoe, you have some things to think about. I know you are going to go backstage tonight and look over the bruises you have just gained. I hope they make you think hard about who you need to trust." With that, she sends a glance to Beth and continues her walk out of the ring.

I didn't think I had to look out for who to trust. I thought the people in the ring right now were my trustees. Maybe I was wrong.

"Zoe, Zoe, don't listen to her," Edge starts," We know how Rhea works. That's why we didn't do anything- you just need to trust us."

"Trust you? This is the second time now I've been targeted and neither of you have done anything! Where is the support? I need support," I say angrily.

"We know what's best-"

"Then tell me. What do you think is best for me? Trusting you or trusting Rhea?" I hear the crowd gasp at my words. Edge and Beth send a look to each other.

"You don't actually mean that, do you?" Edge asks me all serious.

I don't answer, but instead look him straight in the eyes. Rey finally intervenes.

"Guys, come on now. This is just heat of the moment. We are cool!" Rey says getting in between Edge and I. Rey turns to Edge fully, " Maybe Zoe is right. Maybe we do need to show her more support."

Edge looks at him doubtfully," If you say so," is all he says as he grabs his wife's hand and walks out of the ring. "Whatever you choose to do, Zoe; just make sure you stay out of my way," and with that, he walks away from the ring.

I huff before turning back to Rey. Rey turns to me with a sympathetic look," Zoe, please... please don't leave me. We are familia. We have a bond now. You can't leave me like Dominik did. Not to the same person as well! I need you here, and I can't lose someone again."

I nod my head in understanding," You're the only reason I'm still here. You were right, I only said that earlier because I was hurt. I didn't actually mean it, I'm sorry," I say leaning into Rey for a comforting hug.

Rey hugs me back, and for a moment it all seems better. Maybe I would stay on Rey's side.

Maybe I wouldn't.
