The Lost White Lycan

Chapter 35

Early the next morning, James had rolled his arm out from underneath Eden. He was trying not to wake her. He almost made it but Eden's eyes popped open and she smirked at his silly antics. Eden pulled James back into bed and made him put his arms around her. 

James was eager to go to his office and see Brady to discuss finding Eden's birth parents. Before either of them could finish their little makeout session there was a knock at the door. 

James pulled on his pants that had been thrown on the floor the night before and hopped over to the door zipping them up. "Good morning Brady. I thought I would meet you at my fath…my office." James stuttered when he realized his father's office was his now. 

Brady stepped further into the room and Eden sat up in bed with the sheets and cover well fitted over her body. He informed the two of them that Eden will need to choose her personal Warriors that will serve and protect her now that she is Empress. 

Eden is overwhelmed by having this new power of authority, but Brady asked what her first order of business will be for the day. She said she needed a shower and some pain killers. Her run yesterday left her sore and tired. Most of all, she just wanted to stay in bed. 

James agreed that Eden needed some rest. Both physically and mentally.  He called for her maid to bring her meals that day in her room. 

Sarah, being the hyper little teenager she is, bopped into the room after James left. She brought Eden an assortment of breakfast items. Eggs, pancakes, sausage links, and a bowl of fresh berries. "I'll run a bath for you Empress." Sarah said and she disappeared into the bathroom. 

Before Eden could get undressed Sarah was hounding her with questions. "What would you like to do today Empress?" she said.

"Oh, Sarah, please just call me Eden. I'm not used to this royal lingo yet. And we're friends, right?" Eden shot back at her.

Sarah began "Ok then, Do you want to go to the Warriors House to collect your things?" Eden just looked down at her bed. She was collecting her thoughts about how she had always dreamed of being a warrior, but now she was royalty. Would she EVER get to fight?

"I don't think I'm ready to face those guys yet. Would you mind bringing my things here?" Eden asked Sarah. 

Sarah straightened right up so proudly and nodded with a big smile. "How about we check out the King's Quarters? I bet you're anxious to get into that room!" 

Eden just sighed and said "Not really, all of this is so new to me and I'm just not sure I'm worthy enough to be in that room." 

"But Empress!" Sarah exclaimed, "you're the most worthy! Why, I heard white lycans we're…."

"Ahem! I think we all want to know about the white lycans, but I'd rather Eden know the truth than some mythology you've heard Sarah." James cut in after coming back from his meeting. 

"Ye..yes..your highness.." Sarah stuttered. James smiled at Sarah giving her the idea that it was ok and no harm done. She then disappeared into the bathroom to start Eden's bath water.

James had just come back from his meeting only briefly to ask Eden if she could mindlink her brother. Unfortunately Eden told him that they were never able to do that like some sibling lycans could. James then gave Eden a kiss on the forehead and let her get back to her day. 

A few minutes later Eden entered the bathroom and asked what that amazing smell was in there. Sarah replied "I picked fresh Lemongrass and spearmint leaves this morning and added them to the bath water." Eden smiled giddily and disrobed. 

The water was perfect. It felt amazing on Eden's sore muscles and the aroma was intoxicating. She laid in the bath under the morning light that shone through the window. 

Meanwhile, James and Brady met in James' office and discussed the rogue attacks. There were so many each night and they just kept coming. Each night they were getting closer and closer to the city and castle. They were both convinced now it was bc of Eden. Rogues don't get the midlinks, but because Aiden is Eden's brother he had hoped that would be a way to communicate woth Aiden. Somehow though, James and Brady believed the rogues were being drawn to her through some supernatural force.

The King of Everguard had burst into their meeting and demanded James talk with him. Since Eden is now Empress, AND James's mate, there needed to be a new arrangement for Princess Lucianne. 

James agreed to talk with the King. In the meeting they came to a new arrangement for his daughter to marry James' cousin in the neighboring kingdom of Glenmore to keep the alliances they previously had. 

However, James pointed out that Greycrest no longer needed the alliances of other kingdoms because it had become the biggest and most powerful kingdom in the world. James boasted that now with a white lycan, it would not need to keep harboring arrangements his father made.

King William was not happy at hearing those words, but he was in no position to bargain. "Fine. The princess will marry your cousin. BUT I want the wedding to happen before we leave!" King William demanded. 
James's snout elongated and he bared his lycan jaws to King William "Do you want to live long enough to see your daughter a bride?" And with that King William cowered and nodded. He quickly left the room to give the news to his daughter.
