Well, This Room Is Awfully Dark.

As she stepped through the doorway to Room 016, she expected the same as the last, only to find... nothing. The room was pitch black.

"Oh, come on... this is officially the worst..."

She groaned in annoyance, walking into the room after giving her eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness. This hallway was longer than the others - it wasn't incredibly long - but it was still a bit of a walk. She got halfway across the room before she heard something, a faint whisper in her ear.

Psst!

She yelped, looking up quickly, only to find nothing.

She looked back and turned around, coming face to face with a pair of white glowing eyes, and an incredibly creepy smile.

She let out a small squeak of surprise, instinctively thrusting a hand in front of her as she looked away again, only for it to rest on the creatures head.

She was taken by surprise yet again when she touched the creature, for it was oddly warm. It had an incredibly weird texture, almost like water, but also like felt - the kind typically used for puppets. She felt the odd being tense up under her touch, practically freezing in place mid-air. She slowly raised her hand again, bringing it back down to touch the creatures head again.

She was petting the creature.

It seemed to work though, as it slowly started to relax under her touch, nuzzling closer to her hand. It started to make a soft sound after a few moments, barely audible. It was purring, very similar to a cat.

Elowyn moved slightly closer to the creature, still continuing to pet it. She tried her best to stifle her laughter when she saw its expression; it had its eyes closed, and it was smiling softly as it nuzzled impossibly closer to her hand.

"Hehe... you're not scary at all, are you?"

She said, smiling softly at the being in front of her. Its eyes opened suddenly, quite clearly startled.

"Oh... uhm... sorry... I didn't mean to startle you..."

She muttered quietly, withdrawing her hand and letting it fall limp at her side. She smiled sadly at the small creature, which still looked rather startled... no, wait... it wasn't scared anymore... it was more... surprised.

"You're... actually talking to me? You don't find me creepy? Not at all?"

A small voice asked, sounding almost like it belonged to a child. It took her a moment to realise that it was the creature talking to her.

"Oh! Uhm... no? You're nothing like that weird skull thing from earlier... that thing almost gave me a heart attack..."

She muttered, her expression changing from surprised to annoyed rather quickly. The creature started giggling at this.

"Hehe... skull thing... hehehe... Rush isn't going to like that- hehehe!"

It took a moment for the entity in front of her to calm down.

"Uhm... Rush? Is... is that the name of the thing that came flying down the halls screaming earlier?"

She asked, tilting her head to the side slightly. The creature nodded, still occasionally snickering and giggling quietly.
