821. The Gathering Before the New Year

Liu Wei's words stirred some feelings of guilt in Li Lisa.

After sending her off, Li Lisa turned around and headed back into the house.

Mu Jungkook was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, leaning back casually.

He did not react on sensing Li Lisa's return.

Instead, he sat back quietly and closed his eyes to rest.

Li Lisa walked over, feeling inexplicably nervous.

Just as she had cleared the glass used by the guest and poured out the remaining water in it, she felt a pair of arms wrapping around her waist.

She paused and placed the cup back on the table.

Mu Jungkook pressed his face against her back, breathing in her faint fragrance through her clothes.

Li Lisa slid onto his lap and said, "You're home early today."

New Year was just around the corner and Li Lisa had specially made time to be at home.

She had thought initially that Mu Jungkook would not be home so soon, but it was a pleasant surprise.

"I missed you." Mu Jungkook replied with his arms still wrapped around her waist. He kissed the side of her face and said, "I didn't expect to hear such a surprising conversation coming home."

For some reason, Li Lisa felt guilty.

The man gently caressed the side of her face and asked, "What were you talking about just then?"

"nothing much." Li Lisa pursed her lips. "Why, what did you hear?"

"I heard you talking about your ex." Mu Jungkook spoke softly in his deep voice. "And so, how am I different?"

Li Lisa knew that he had heard everything, but she had no intention of hiding anything from him. She kissed his cheek and said, "You're different in every way. You're my husband, they're nothing."

"What else?"

"Oh..." Li Lisa snuggled into his arms and said, "Why don't you make a guess?"

Mu Jungkook snorted. "I don't know."

"Just make a guess."

"I have no idea."

Feeling defeated, Li Lisa got up. "I'll tell you later then, what do you want for dinner?"

"Let's eat out." Mu Jungkook leaned back in his chair and seemed to be in a good mood. "Coincidentally, the guys have made plans to meet up, let's join them for some fun."

"With Instructor Yang, Ah Min and the rest?"

"Yes, it's the last chance this year. After tonight's gathering, everyone will be heading home for the New Year tomorrow." Mu Jungkook got up and put on his jacket.

"Sure." Li Lisa took a look at her own outfit and said, "Wait for me, I'll comb my hair."

Before Mu Jungkook could answer, Li Lisa had dashed into the room like a whirlwind.

However, she didn't just brush her hair, she also changed her clothes and put on some lipstick.

Just as she was done, a call came in from Bo Jennie.

She picked it up.

"Lisa, Bai Jin said that there's a gathering tonight. Will you be there too?"

"That's right." Li Lisa put on her jacket, saying, "It's almost end of the year. Come with us."
