You leave your house with your newly acquired Pokéballs, ready to catch your first Pokémon, saying goodbye to your mother, and entering the tall grass of your home region, Fyrún. The first Pokémon you find? Another electric type, despite already having a Pikachu.

"Wolvolt, the Wolverine Pokémon. An Electric-Type native to the Fyrún region. This feisty Pokémon uses its electrified claws to paralyze prey. Wolvolt love to pursue hordes of Lemmini, and even the occasional Raindeer. This particular Wolvolt is Level 4 and knows Quick Attack, Scratch, Growl, and Speed Surge."

"Pokédex, give me info on the more 'Speed Surge.'"

"Speed Surge. A physical Electric-Type move with 50 power, 100 percent accuracy, and 20 power points. Similar to Volt Tackle, the user cloaks itself in electricity and charges at the opponent. However, unlike Volt Tackle, Speed Surge does not inflict recoil damage. Instead, it increases the user's speed stat by one stage."

"Interesting. Alright, Pikachu, I heard there's a special stone that can only be found here in Fyrún that can make you evolve into a special Pokémon named Gorochu! What do you think about finding it?"

Pikachu hops in affirmation, before climbing back on your shoulder.

"Good! Now, let's-" you try to speak, but you're interrupted by a massive airship flying overhead.

"Huh...?" You and Pikachu look up at the airship, confused as to why it's so close to the ground, and you get knocked over by a man pushing past you, followed by a Ceruledge.

"Out of our way! We need to get to that ship!" The airship crashes and the explosion just barely fails to reach you. Once the smoke clears, you and Pikachu make a run for the ship, curious as to what the man and the Ceruledge are up to.

"Give her to us, or at least have her give up her pendant, Friede!"

"Not a chance! Go, Cha-"

"Leave it to me," you interrupt. "By the way, Friede, I heard your name is, do you have a Rune Stone on you?"

"Indeed I do!" he says, tossing the stone to you. "Why?"

"Thanks. Ready, Pikachu?"

Pikachu affirms that it's ready, and so you toss the stone to Pikachu, who catches it on its tail before it begins glowing... and growing.

Scanning your newly evolved Gorochu with your Pokédex, you learn more about it.

"Gorochu, the Thunder Pokémon. An Electric and Dragon type native to the Fyrún region. Able to summon monstrous thunderstorms from clear skies, Gorochu are a force to be reckoned with. Your Gorochu knows Quick Attack, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, and Immortal Thunder."

"Alright. Ready, Gorochu? Let's battle this Ceruledge!"

"Fine," the man scoffs. "Ceruledge, use Bitter Blade!"

"Block it with Dragon Claw!"

Gorochu's tail clashes with Ceruledge's swords, and neither Pokémon takes damage. You notice a girl watching the fight from the ship, and you smile at her and wave. She returns the wave, shyly.

"Gorochu, Dragon Pulse!"

"Block it with your swords!"

"Use Immortal Thunder three times to drain the PP of Bitter Blade!"

Gorochu does as instructed, completely depleting the PP of Ceruledge's attack.

"Ceruledge, use Shadow Claw!"

"Use Dragon Claw!"

The two Pokémons' claws clash over and over again. Eventually, Gorochu gets a hit in and knocks Ceruledge back, causing it to collapse.

After a while, Ceruledge begins to stand up, and so...

"Gorochu, use Immortal Thunder!!"

Ceruledge collapses, unable to battle.
