TW: PTSD/Flashbacks

Wednesday's POV

After a few hours, I finally decide that it is time for me to finish writing for the day. But as I stand up to leave my room, I notice something sticking out of one of my bags. When I open it, I realize it was the snood that Enid made me for my birthday. "I made it in your signature colors" That was her way of trying to entice me into wearing such a wretched thing. But then again... I wouldn't have snuck all the way back to the Gates' house to retrieve it from the lift if it wasn't somewhat... comfortable. But as my fingers barely brush the soft yarn, my head is thrown back and I am thrown into darkness.

A vision.

I wake up in a dark room, the only light being from the moon. It takes a minute before my vision starts to clear. I notice the half-colored window of my dorm room. One side of the room is empty, while Enid's side is still set up like it was during the semester. So this must be a vision of next semester or last semester before I arrive because she should have been packed up to leave for summer. Or she lets all of her stuff there until the next semester seeing how much stuff she has. This doesn't help much when there is only silence filling the room. As I look around, there isn't a single soul here in the room. All I find are some strands of hair that don't seem to belong to Enid. But just as I start to think this vision is a waste of time, I hear a small sniffle come from near the window. I turn to look at the window and just as I lay my eyes on a figure laying there, I am thrown back into reality and I hit the floor with a thud.

As I regain my focus, and stand up, brushing myself off, Thing comes running in.

"Are you okay?" He signs quickly and I nod. "Just a vision. Probably nothing." I say through my teeth.

I look back at the snood, the black yarn still sticking out of my bag. Something or someone was in our dorm. And I'm going to find out who.

"Lurch!" I yell as I bang on his door. It's around 10:00 in the evening when I decide I am going to make the trip back to Nevermore. My parents and brother are already asleep or at least in bed. I hear a grunt from the other side of the door and I huff. "I need a ride to Nevermore. Now. Without alerting Mother and Father." I keep my voice stern, making sure to emphasize the part where I don't want my parents involved. "Yes! I know what time it is. Let's go, We need to be back before my parents wake up."

Thankfully, my parents sleep in once a week but my brother will be up. But he doesn't dare enter my room without explicit permission from me, giving me enough time to travel to Nevermore and back without notice of being missing.

After some convincing, Lurch, Thing, and I were finally making our way to the garage. Thing is coming because I do not trust him to rat my plans out to my parents. It's a long trip back, but to find evidence that might be of use to my stalker is more important than the amount of time spent in the car.

"Why are we going back?" Thing signs as I roll my eyes. "I find it annoying to have to repeat myself. In my vision, I heard what sounded like whimpers but no one was in the room.

I brought the cursed box with me in case any new messages show from the unknown number. Unfortunately, not a single message comes through on the way, but as we pull into Nevermore, it seems even more eerie than when I left.

"Lurch, stay here. Thing, come with me." I say as I exit the car, the cold air hitting my face. The clouds were covering the moon but enough light was shining through to avoid having to use flashlights. As I make my way toward the entrance, I noticed a window that wasn't completely closed. Whoever was in our dorm probably came in through here. I check the seal and around the floor nearby but there were no traces of hair or anything.

The halls were dim and quiet, since I arrived at this excuse for a school, the place has never been quiet. I make my way to Ophelia Hall, Thing staying on my shoulder. I keep checking for any signs of something have been around recently but there isn't anything. That is until I reach the dorm. The door was slightly cracked. Knowing Enid, she forgot to lock it before leaving since there are no signs of forced entry. I push the door open and immediately notice Enid's side of the room is still as I saw it last. A complete mess. I notice a small notebook on the bed but I look toward the window. Whatever was in my vision was laying in front of it. As I walk closer, I see a figure, curled up in exactly where it was in my dream. But as I get closer, I realize this is not going to be helpful to my investigations.

The whimper isn't coming from my stalker or Tyler. It's only Enid.

Enid's POV

I am running through the woods. I hear the growls of the creature that is after Wednesday, the same wretched growls that have terrorized me since that night. Ever since the fight with Tyler, I have had the same nightmare every time I sleep, to the point I wait until I pass out from exhaustion to sleep sometimes.

It's always me, running through the woods, trying to track down Wednesday. I don't wolf out, and just as I see Wednesday's eyes meet mine, I watch as Tyler kills her. Kills the first person that... I truly...

But this time it's different. Before I can begin to think further, I am picking up Wednesday's scent, and I feel myself starting to wolf out. The pain of my bones cracking and morphing into a werewolf. It was painful... Then it all happens again, just like that night. I save Wednesday, she leaves to save the school and I kick Tyler's ass. Until I feel the pain after wolfing out. The same pain I felt that night, not so much physical pain, but a pain in my chest, a pain I cannot describe. I then limp my way to the front of Nevermore to try and find Wednesday.

I need to find Wednesday.

The trek back to the front gates of Nevermore felt like it took hours. Thankfully Thing was there when I de-transitioned back into my human form. But when I arrived and made my way through the students and not seeing Wednesday, my heart felt like it shattered. When no one knew where she was, it felt even worse.

I whimper as I stir awake, thankful the dream was over, the fantom pains fading away, but I hate having to relive that every time I sleep. But as I start to wake up, my eyes widen as I notice a pair of shoes in front of me and I feel my entire body tense and freeze. Instinctively, my claws unsheathe, my eyes turn a glowing yellow, and a low growl escapes my throat. Quickly, I jump up and push whoever was in front of me against the wall, one hand firmly holding whoever it was against the wall, my other arm raised, my claws prepared to rip this person to shreds. Until the scent hits my nose, the smell of ink, books, and decaying flowers. The scent hit me just as the person spoke.

"Enid!"

A barely audible yell was forced out from the throat underneath my hand. The second I recognized the smell and the voice, my claws retracted immediately, I let go and started backing away. As the person falls to the ground coughing, I feel tears falling down my face.

I watched in horror as I hurt the one person I swore to always protect. The one person who my wolf wanted to protect. I never expected Wednesday Addams to be standing in front of me... She was supposed to be gone for the summer... It was pure instinct... I didn't mean to hurt her...

But fear forcibly took ahold of me and I made a run for the door.
