*RIVER'S P.O. V*
I awoke with Adam gone. Also Brianna. I sniffed the air and smelled her. Bayonetta was here. My love and baby are gone. I screamed and ran over to Bri's crib hoping this was a silly nightmare. Connor ran in and looked around. When he inhaled, his eyes showed pain if I looked deeply into them.
"Where are Adam and Brianna?" He asked walking towards me, gripping my arms gently.
"I don't know. They were gone when I woke up." I panicked. Tears streamed down my face and I couldn't be strong. Now I know what Bayonetta was talking about. Love is poison. I don't care. The feeling of luck be is and was worth it. For everyone. Connor nodded and ran out of the room, I followed closely behind. I heard a shriek in my mind and stopped. Is that Adam? My heart sped and then dropped when someone else answered.
'No its me. We need water. Go to the ocean. Please, this will help us.' My mermaid pleaded. I nodded. I have to take care of myself in order to take care of my family. Bayonetta taught me that. Yet she never took care of herself when she had to take care of her flock or anyone else. They always came first and she came last. I reached Connors office and knocked.
"Come in." His voice answered and I opened the door, walking in.
"I'm going for a swim. I need to actually. I haven't been in the water for a year." I explained and my mind was blown. We were here for a little over a year. A year and 4 months to be exact. Yeah it took me and Adam that long to actually make it official.
"Ok. Have Liam go with you. If.. If Bayonetta took Adam and your child then she would... She would want to hurt you. She would never want to hurt Liam so you have an advantage. I must stay here and send out search parties and such." Connor informed me and I nodded again.
"Yes Alpha." I commented and he shook his head.
"You don't have to call me Alpha." His eyes never left his laptop as he typed away.
"Ok." I retorted and walked out, shutting the door behind me.

I parked the car and skipped up the steps that belonged to the beach house. I haven't been in this place in forever. This place looked intimidating now, the past filling its walls with memories. I opened the door and cussed under my breath how Liam was foolish enough to leave it open. I deeply breathed in, missing this place. Blood filled my nostrils and I whimpered, running into the kitchen. Nothing. I ran into the dining room and seeing there was nothing I advanced to the upstairs. Swinging open the door to Bayonettas room, I saw that her balcony doors were open and the curtains were flowing in. I quickly walked over to the balcony and saw some blood splatters. But why were there none in her room? I walked out and into Liam's room, suspense filling my senses. My heart thumped wildly in its caged area and my breath hitched as I opened the door. The door creaked as I pushed it a tiny bit and saw it was empty. I heard the bath going and felt relieved. Liam was here. His bathroom door was sort of open and it was misty. I opened it more and saw Liam missing. But blood. Blood was there. It coated the bathtub ledge and the floor. Some was on the sink and more was on the walls. How long has the water been running? My stomach threatened to spill out all of its contents. Not my other brother. Please just tell me Bayonetta took him. She wouldn't hurt him. Would she? Bayonetta is that crazy. I fell to the floor and tried to cry but nothing came out. Is it ok to not be ok? I had more questions then answers.
'Connor. Liam's missing.' I whimpered through the mind link that we had. I stood up and walked back into Bayonettas room.
'I'm coming.' He stated and then cut the link off. I roamed around in Bayonettas room for a bit until something caught my eye. Her bookshelf. She pestered me to buy it yet she rarely reads. I stood there for over 28 minutes, tilting all of the books. Nothing happened yet I still had the hunch.
"What are you doing?" I grabbed a book and chucked it where the voice came from.
"Hey!" Connor shouted as he ducked. Apparently I threw the book so hard when it hit the wall it literally flew through the wall.
"Sorry. It was natural reflexes." I apologized and he nodded.
"Why are you checking out Bayonettas room?" He asked looking around. I saw his pained expression and wanted to hug him. I know what he's going through.
"I have a hunch. About this bookshelf. I titled all of the books but nothing." I threw my hands in the air as exaggeration.
"Did you move it to check the back? Like a hidden door?" He raised his eyebrows and I shook my head. He nodded and walked over before sliding the bookshelf a couple feet effortlessly. As I said before. Nothing.
"Oh." Connor commented and I bit my lip. My grey eyes widened and I charged to her dresser and rummaged through her makeup drawer. Its a great chance that she disguised her potions to look like makeup bottles. Me, being an expert in makeup, I immediately saw the differences. Ha! Score 1 for me! I grabbed the NYC liquid eyeliner bottle and chanted a small spell us mers use to uncover the truth about something. It only works on small things so it works on potion bottles. The bottle soon took form into a small cone shape with a small spout that had a cork lid. I popped it opened to take a whiff and wanted to pat myself on the back. This is the bottle of poison, this poison is extremely rare so it means it is potent. I lifted the glass and let the sun rays hit it. The green liquid had gold flecks in it so I knew I was correct. I grabbed an eyedropper that was in the drawer and took a drop. Quickly I put it on the wall, making sure the poison doesn't eat away at the small dropper. If a spell was casted to disguise the wall to look normal the potion would eat it away, if not, then it would eat the wall. Its similar to acid. That's why when magical people come to this earth realm they usually use this poison if they have it. I put the potion bottle back after putting its lid on tightly and then put the dropper down.
"Holy fucking shit." Connor breathed so I turned around to see what he was talking about. So I had the hunch for a reason. A door stood tall and I bit my lip wondering what was inside.
"You are not going to believe what's in there." Connor looked at me as if he was just mortified.
