I felt pretty horrible about allowing Sebastian to take the fall for our misadventure. Still, I had pressing matters to attend to.

I manage to make my way to another portal. It leads me to a familiar looking room, a lot like the spaces I was in at the vault in Gringotts.

As I make my way through, I'm faced with familiar armored statues who come to life, like the ones I fought at Gringotts. I manage to defeat most of them with a similar move that I used on the troll in Hogsmeade. Could this be me wielding the ancient magic? No...

Eventually, after taking quite a bludgeoning from fighting all the statues, I drink a Wiggenweld potion that I stored in my cloak and make it into what appears to be the final room. In the middle of the room, there is a book floating above another pensieve. It pours a memory into the pensieve and seemingly disappears. I hesitate for a brief second, before I push myself into the memories.

The memories flood me, almost too much to keep up with. By the end of it all, I'm introduced to a young witch named Isidora Morganach, mentored by Professor Rackham and sharing the same ability as us. I feel myself getting pushed back out of the pensieve.

Isidora Morganach, Professor Rackham, and I have so much in common. Does this mean that I can wield this ancient magic too?

A translucent doorway appears, and I can see an exit to the doorway back to the library. The book that was floating above the pensieve also materialized within reach. I quickly grab it and leave.

------------------------------------------

As I make my way back up from the Restricted Section, I'm so distracted by the memory that it takes me a moment to remember something very important.

"Sebastian!" I whisper loudly, looking around the bookcases.

I immediately spot him, standing up at the front of the library with Madam Scribner and Peeves. I duck behind a shelf and listen.

"Sneaking in the Restricted Section again! I'm afraid I must take this to the headmaster. It seems detention is not doing enough," Scribner scolds him as Peeves cackles in the background.

"But-" Sebastian protests, looking worried. I feel a pang of guilt hit my stomach. I shouldn't have dragged him into this.

Scribner clears her throat, "That being said... Peeves tells me that you did not come alone tonight. If someone has coerced you, I would have you tell me. You're a bright boy, don't waste this."

Sebastian hesitates for a moment. I freeze. Honestly, he deserves to rat me out. I hope he does.

"There was no one else. I came here alone," he lies, looking her directly in the eye. I breathe a sigh of relief.

Scribner looks disappointed. "Oh, Sebastian. What will your uncle say?" she sighs, walking away. Sebastian looks around the room for a moment, then makes his way out the library door.

Perhaps I can trust him after all.

I cast a Disillusionment charm on myself and sneak back to the Gryffindor common room.
