Miyabi Kurosawa POV
June 13, 2008
Tokyo, Japan

It has been 2 months since Ai and I had started studying at a middle school in Tokyo. Ai has become popular around the school for her beauty as she's considered to be the most beautiful in our year. Meanwhile, I was considered to be the prime 'boyfriend material' by school's female population, it naturally led to me being the bane of every male in school.

Due to this, our close relationship to each other made us wary of others. There were some nasty rumors floating around the both of us, making us both skeptical to the people who approach us. We both decided to just keep our head down and stick together.

Even though we both made it clear to everyone, people all still thought that the two of us are somehow dating. As of right now, me and Ai are now on the way back home. Although, in these 2 months, we've been roaming Tokyo for a bit during after school hours.

Having phones really made everything convenient when it came to communicating with each other. These first few weeks, we roamed around together. Slowly over time, Ai has been wanting to explore on her own.

Being a big brother, I can't help but get worried about the thought of it. But I still gave her the freedom to do so, deciding to trust her and her ability to defend herself. Those at home self-defense training we did at home really showed some results, albeit quite small. I also gave her a tazer which she can use if she has no other choice.

"Well, I guess this is where we split up. Are we still going to meet at the usual place, Ai?" I ask her as we both stop at an intersection. "Yep. I'll call you later when I'm on my way. Also, don't you dare to be late." She assures then scolds me cutely with a pout. I roll my eyes at her with a small smirk on my face, "Please, so far, you're the one who's mostly late between the two of us." I point out, starting a sibling like banter with her. I check the time on my watch, it was now 4:30 and we'll meet at again at 7:00 at the agreed location.

"Oh yeah?! At least I didn't fall face first into a pile of cow dung." She fires back at me with an unrelated topic, as I remember what she was talking about. I feel a tick mark on my face, "Oh well I at least grew taller than a certain someone!" I strike at her weak point, emotionally damaging her. "Auggghh." She says as if she actually got hurt with that. She clenches her jaw before kicking at my with the hard part of her shoe.

That made me drop to my knees because of the pain. I internally scream as I do not want to cause a larger scene. As I compose myself, I see her back turned against me, seeing my chance, I started to poke her sides.

She gets startled and starts laughing, "Wa-wait! AHAHAAHHA st-stop it! I give up, I-i give up." She says as she tries to avoid my pokes to her side. I back off, satisfied with my work as she tries to catch her breath and composure. We both now stand beside each other, acting as if nothing happened as a crowd passes by us.

As we see the crowd pass, I break the silence between us. "Should we split up now?" I ask her with a raised eyebrow. She rolls her eyes at me and says, "Yeah, we should. We've spent quite a bit of time due to your shenanigans."

"To be fair, you bit back, making it last longer." I reply back, making her give me a deadpan stare. I smile and chuckle at her reaction, I pat her head and ruffle her hair. "Go on now, don't forget to have fun. But please don't go over the budget." I remind her with a brotherly tone in my voice.

She smiles fondly, enjoying the feeling of the head pats and ruffling of her hair. "Mouuu, you're messing my hair up. And don't worry, I remember what you taught me." She says cutely as she giggles a bit.

After exchanging goodbyes, we went ahead of each other to go do our own thing. You see, I've been visiting this library. The reason why I often spend my time here is because of the high quality books, atmosphere, and service they provide.
