Taehyung's POV
I leaned back, phone in hand, scrolling through my messages with Jimin about an upcoming mission. But my eyes kept darting to Y/N. Even though she hadn't said a word to me since we got here, her laughter with that guy irritated me for no reason. Who did he think he was, clinging to her like that?
The second she excused herself and left the room with him, a flash of irritation ran through me. Why should I care, though? I thought, brushing it off. But the irritation lingered, gnawing at the back of my mind.

Y/N's POV
It felt freeing to be outside with Yeonjun, away from Taehyung's icy stares. We strolled toward the ice cream parlor, the chilly dessert lifting my spirits a bit.
Yeonjun: "Y/N, seriously, what are your parents thinking? They're pairing you with a guy who treats you like you're invisible!" he scoffed, handing me my favorite chocolate ice cream.
Y/N: "They're just focused on the business and this sudden loss..." I said, licking the ice cream thoughtfully.
He sighed, shaking his head. "If you ever need help, just call me. I'll be there in a heartbeat, okay?"
I managed a small smile. "Thanks, Yeonjun. You're the best." I ruffled his hair, grateful for his friendship.
We ended up at a nearby park, sitting on the swings, watching kids play as we shared everything on our minds. Just as I started to feel genuinely at ease, my phone buzzed.

Taehyung: "Where are you?"
Y/N: "At the park."
Taehyung: "Your parents are waiting. Come back now."
Y/N: "Could you ask them to go ahead? I'll come with Yeonjun."
Taehyung: "Just come here. Don't order me around."
I left his last message on read, swallowing the lump in my throat. The thought of returning to the showroom and his cold demeanor made my heart sink. I stood up, sighing as Yeonjun gave me a comforting look.

Back at the showroom, I felt Taehyung's stare pierce through me as my parents bid farewell to the Kims. On our way home, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread settling in.
