Author’s POV:
The night had been restless. Your mind couldn’t stop racing, replaying the harsh words Taehyung had spoken. The promises of torment, the cold, distant future awaiting you in his mansion—it all felt suffocating.
As the rain pattered gently against the windows, you sat in your study, staring out at the storm. Thoughts swirled like the thunderclouds outside, heavy with uncertainty and despair. You would be forced to leave your friends, your family, everything that made you feel safe and loved. The isolation of a mansion, controlled by someone you didn’t even know, haunted your mind. The thought of not being able to go out, not feeling the warmth of companionship from your best friends, or the love they received from their partners… it was enough to make the tears fall.
And then, in the quiet of the storm, you fell asleep, exhausted from the emotional weight.
---
Two Hours Later…
You woke up with a start, the sound of the rain still softly tapping against the windows. Realizing you had dozed off, you groggily stretched and got up. You couldn’t afford to stay in this gloomy mood. Time to face the world—at least, for now.
Heading to your room to freshen up, you took a moment to collect yourself. After a quick shower, you dressed casually—comfortable yet still dignified. You didn’t have much time to linger, so you hurried downstairs to join your family for lunch.
---
At the table, the conversations seemed lighthearted, but a cloud of tension still lingered. Your parents were being sweet to you, trying to make things easier, but you knew the truth behind their kindness. It wasn’t really about you—it was about the alliance, the marriage, and the business.
You couldn’t hold it in any longer. Your dreams had always been bigger than just being someone’s wife, living under their rules.
"Dad," you said, your voice firm, "I don’t want to just be a housewife. I want to work in our company, you know it’s always been my dream."
Your father, barely looking up from the TV, didn’t give you the response you had hoped for. Instead, he sighed and spoke with a detached tone.
"Princess, it all depends on Taehyung. He’s said that he won’t allow you to work or even leave the house. They’re the biggest mafia family, and they have too many rivals. Your safety comes first to him."
You bit back your frustration. Of course, it all came down to Taehyung and his rules. No matter how much you wanted something else, you’d have to live in the confines of his world now. The conversation faded into background noise as you quickly finished your lunch and retreated back upstairs.
---
In your room, you collapsed onto the bed, your phone in hand. Scrolling aimlessly through Instagram, your mind wandered to the life you used to have—the freedom, the choices, the plans you had for your future. But now, everything felt so uncertain.
“Should I just jump to the wedding day?” you wondered. It felt like everything had been building up to this moment, this forced union, and the thought of dragging it out any longer seemed unbearable.
You decided to put that thought aside for a moment and just breathe. The clock ticked loudly in the quiet room as you tried to make sense of your emotions. The looming wedding was only a week away, but your heart felt so heavy with the thought of being bound to a man like Taehyung.
---
A/N: So, what do you think? Should we just jump to the wedding day? It’s been a week of buildup, and I think we might need to fast forward. But, I want to make sure you’re enjoying the story so far. Let me know your thoughts! I promise the next chapter will bring even more suspense. Until then, take care, sweeties! 💖
