Yuki had cleaned up her café counters she was arranging the chairs when Shoto walked in. She looked confused to see him that evening.
"I said come by tomorrow"
"No time was indicated" Shoto showed her, her text from his phone.
I have made a decision come by to talk about it
She looked at her phone to see she hadn't sent the tomorrow which was an after thought.
"Oops sorry since you are here let's talk" she pulled out a chair "So let's get this straight you abandoned me because you were scared that you'd spill your proposal plans"
"Yes" he nodded.
"Shoto come on you can keep a secret you manage to keep our relationship a secret from the whole of Japan even some of your friends" she deadpanned
"That. I was trying to protect you from villains that want to hurt me" Shoto explained.
SIGH "I understand but it'll be nice if you can try to communicate because you left me thinking that you have fallen out of love for me"
"I'd try. I am still very much in love with you Yuki I want to spend the rest of my life with you" he reached out to grab her hand but pulled back upon realising.
"No more secret life" she noticed his reaction and she grabbed his hand.
"I I I really don't"
"Living a private life is different from living a secret life" she softly fiddled with his fingers while giving him a reassuring smile.
"But the dangers"
"I'm fine" her fingers locked with his.
"Okay thank you so much for giving me a second chance" he hugged her
They hugged for a few minutes before Shoto pulled away, he felt Yuki's hands in his pocket. Before he pulled out of the hug she had successfully gotten her hands on the ring box that had been in his pocket for over 2 months.
"I was curious" Yuki looked at the ring box "how long has this been with you?"
"2 months" Shoto's face went red as he mumbled.
"Really" she opened the box. GASP "It's pretty sho"
"Do you like it" he saw her eyes light up when she saw the ring.
"I love it" she gave Shoto back the box opened and stretched her hand. Shoto looked at her wide eyed. He took the ring out of its place and slipped it into her finger.
"Is that a yes wait I didn't even propose" he still looked shocked.
"Yes dummy. you don't need to plan an elaborate proposal which got you in this mess this is fine"
"But"
"We can have a big engagement party that I plan to make up for the proposal if you want"
On the day of the engagement party, the Todoroki House was tastefully decorated with multi-colored flowers, ribbons and balloons. Fuyumi was in charge of the decorations and she took care of the catering too.
There were a lot of cocktails, Maguro don - Bluefin tuna sashimi on a bowl of rice and Bluefin tuna sashimi on its own.
Yuki wore a gold floor length gown with gold sandals and Shoto wore a black suit.
About an hour later people began to show up for the party. After all was said and done, there are about 50 people in the house and in the backyard, consisting of UA alumni, close friends and the Todoroki family. Yuki was trying her hardest to act normal and not let anyone see through her emotions. One positive about the party was that it is acceptable to drink in this setting. They ate dinner; a wonderful meal consisting of Maguro don. There is also plenty of red rice, sake, seaweed and brown algae. Sitting on the couch eating were Yuki's old friends who were bridesmaids , and maid of honour. Most flew in to Japan for the engagement party and are coming for the wedding other flew in from other states of Japan.
"Are you excited for the wedding?" Momo asked.
A long pause. She froze up, not knowing what to say.
"Yeah!" Yuki replies emphatically to try and cover up her hesitation.
It's time to start opening gifts. There were close to 100 or so gifts wrapped up in a pile, and plenty of cards. Yuki opened up the first gift, and it is a 1.3 Million yen fine China, she looked at Rei knowing who it was from . She moved on to the next gift; it's a silverware set. Some of the other gifts we received included glasses, mugs, other kitchen-essentials, and some were packets of money.
There's one gift left. Yuki opened the card that is associated with it. The card is opened with "To Mrs Todoroki." That is when it became all too real. Yuki softly smiled. She opened it to see a key and on the key chain was an engraving which said sugar n cream the name of her coffee shop. She looked up at Shoto who smiled at her.
"What is this?" she asked.
"A key"
"What is the key for?" she looked confused at Shoto.
"Our new family house it's located in the most secure place in Tokyo"
"You bought a new house as an engagement present. The key chain is cute"
"I know right and you it's for you"
"What! For me. It's in my name"
