Through The Labyrinth

Sarah heard someone screaming, it took her a couple of seconds to realize it was her doing the screaming. It took about 4 seconds after the chomp for Carla's body to hit the ground. Sarah watched the blood pump out with every last beat of her heart from the spot where her head was. The shark-man kneeled and started ripping chunks out of Carla's headless body. Anthony bent down and scooped up the handgun, then he grabbed Sarah by the hand and they ran back to Stacey. Gabby grabbed the backpack off Carla's corpse, Sarah picked Stacy up in her arms and they hauled her ass through the labyrinth. They stopped and Anthony looked back the way they came and said, "I think we are good, he's too busy eating... Eating Carla." Sarah could see he had tears on his face, running streaks through Carla's blood. They continued to travel the labyrinth through twists and turns, they finally came to another opening, Stacey had awakened and started walking alongside them. " Where is Carla?" she asked. Sarah was going to lie to her and tell her she left when Anthony said: "She was attacked by a shark-man, she was killed." He looked at the floor and wiped his face. Stacey said, "We have to get out of here, I don't like it here." She was hunched up against Sarah. Sarah said, "We will get home Stacey, I promise you." She hugged Stacey tightly. The truth was Sarah was scared to death and she would put money on that Anthony was also. Stacey said, "I'm getting hungry and very sleepy." As she rubbed her eyes. Gabey said, "Well don't get no ideas this crab ain't on the menu." Stacey walked over and hugged Gabey. Gabey put a claw around the little girl and hugged her back "Yeah, we need to find a safe spot to hold up for the night," Anthony added as he placed the handgun in his belt. "Well, I highly doubt there's a safe place to sleep in this place," Sarah said quietly. Anthony looked around and said, "We will just sleep here and I will grab the first watch." Sarah laid down beside Stacey and tried to sleep but she couldn't, her mind kept going back to the hole in the floor. What if she never went after Stacey? She pushed the thought away, after all, she did go after Stacey. After a while, Sarah drifted to sleep, as she slept she had an unexpected visitor in her dreams.
