I was so excited, I mean this was my first time in a party.
I even asked Darvish to give me a ride earlier, so that I could arrive earlier than the guests.

Zubayda borrowed me one of her kaftans.
It was a pastel green kaftan, with pretty gold adornments.

(Kaftan is a traditional Moroccan dress.)

It was so beautiful, I just wanted to cry out of happiness.

I felt so blessed to be here, and the fact that going to weddings and cultural parties was a normal thing for Zubayda shocked me.

How can someone be so lucky?

Currently, Zubayda's mom was brushing my hair ever so gently.
She was such a sweet woman, and always tries to make me feel happy and welcomed.

This was the first time I met her, since I only saw Zubayda at school, so I never had the chance to meet her mom.

All Zubayda told me about her mom was that she had leukemia.

Zubayda also has a brother, his name is Amir I think.
Zubayda and her mom mention that name while talking darija to each other.

So I'm guessing it's Amir.

Anyways that's not important, I'll never probably get to see or meet him, which I'm not complaining about.

"You are so beautiful." Zubayda's mom suddenly said, making me stammer back to earth.

"Thank you so much, and sorry if I wasted your time too much." I quickly tried to respond politely.
"Don't worry about it, ." She caressed my hair lightly before walking away, making me smile widely.

"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, ZIRA! THE ALLAWIS ARE HERE!" Zubayda came in almost screaming, which made me loose my balance and almost fall out of the chair.

"Zubayda! Sakit!" Zubayda's mom yelled from afar.

(Zubayda! Be quiet!)

"Asif mama!" Zubayda yelled as I giggled at her.

(Sorry mama!)

"Ziraaaaa! Her son is so fine, this is my chance to show myself off to his mom!" She kept going crazy, making me widen my eyes.
"Girl, I thought the world was ending, uff." I tried to stabilize my heartbeat.
"The world will be ending, IF I DON'T GET HER SON-" I hit her on the hand, making her yelp in pain.
"Khara, calm down...my ears. And where is Doha, it's her party, she should quickly open the door." I calmly continued, as I looked around for Doha.

Doha was Zubayda's cousin, it was her graduation party.
She was a pretty Moroccan girl, pale skin, curly black hair.

But Zubayda didn't like her that much.

She was staying in their house and all she found herself talking about was Zubayda's brother.

She never really confessed having a crush on Zubayda's brother...but it was obvious.

She would always change the conversation to Amir.

"God, you're right. DOHA!" Zubayda once again screamed from the top of her lungs.
"I HEARD THE DOOR RING, I'M GOING." Doha screamed from downstairs.

And then we could hear the door opening, as Doha greeted them, and welcomed them in.
There weren't a lot of people yet, about 10, but more were on their way.

God, I wasn't even scared.
I was just excited.
I've never been in a situation like this.

I walked downstairs behind Zubayda, as I copied every deed that she committed.
Every little thing, because I was so dependent on her.
