Author's POV:
Vijaya looked at Bhumi and fumed. Her anger reached its peak as her husband slapped her. For her, Bhumi was the reason behind her daughter's death. She was mentally fixed on that and didn't want to listen to anyone. Somewhere, deep down in her heart, she knows that Bhumi is innocent, but she is not ready to accept it. It's not that she hated Bhumi right from her birth. She pampered Bhumi a lot when she was born. She used to fulfill her every wish. But after the death of Shilpa, they came to know about her complications while she was pregnant with Bhumi. Right from that moment on, she started blaming Bhumi for her daughter's death.
From then on, she started blaming Bhumi for everything bad that happened in her life. She blamed Bhumi for her separation from her husband. She blamed Bhumi for separating her son-in-law and grandson from her. She blamed Bhumi when Akash was depressed because he couldn't crack the medical entrance on the first attempt. She blamed Bhumi when Akash refused to marry the girl, she chose for him. She blamed Bhumi when Krishna met with an accident a few years ago while returning from work. She blamed Bhumi for making her husband hate her. In all these, she forgot that Bhumi was nowhere related to all these, but it was her own doings that made her family distant from her.
When she learned that her family was making arrangements for Bhumi's engagement with the man she loves, she became furious. According to her, Bhumi shouldn't be happy in her life, as she destroyed hers. So, she wanted to break the alliance and force Bhumi to marry someone of her choice. When she was searching for a boy, she thought about her distant relative, who has been married twice and divorced. His first and second wives divorced him because he was a big casino, a drunkard, and a womaniser. Even after knowing all this, she promised that man that she would make her family accept the marriage. She already fought with Nageshwar back at her home, and he got furious as he listened to her. He scolded her and warned her to stay out of the matter; otherwise, he wouldn't mind locking her up in a room. He was fed up with her immature and horrendous behaviour.
She came with that man now, despite all his warnings. Nageshwar felt a pang in his heart as he looked at his wife. How can she be so cruel? How could she stoop so low? Doesn't she have any regret that her one stupid decision could spoil their granddaughter's life? Doesn't she even have humanity? She herself saw those two women suffering in front of her eyes because of that man, and now she wants her granddaughter to marry that rogue. There must be an end.
He took a deep breath and said, "Krishna, do you know any lawyers?"
Everyone looked at him, confused. Why is he asking about a lawyer now?
"Yeah!" said Krishna.
"Are you still in contact with him?" asked Nageshwar.
"Yes, Mavayya," said Krishna.
In all these, Bhumi was uncomfortable, as that man was staring at her lustily. She completely hid behind Atharv and held Padmini's hand. Padmini understood her fear and side-hugged her.
