Author's POV:
Bhumi and Vindhya changed their clothes and were packing them in the bags. Vindhya looked at Bhumi, who was lost in her thoughts.
"What happened?" Vindhya asked, placing her hand on Bhumi's shoulder.
"Nothing," Bhumi said, giving her a small smile.
"Is it?" Vindhya asked, raising her eyebrow.
"Why do we have to leave our parents and go to our husband's house after the marriage? Why can't he come and stay with us? See, I'm not going to leave Nanna and go to Atharv's house. I'll ask him to come with me," said Bhumi. She then thought for a while and said, "But who will take care of Aunty and Uncle? Atharv is their only son. Yeah! We will do one thing. I'll ask Atharv to buy or rent a house near my home. Then I can stay with Atharv, and both of us can take care of Aunty and Uncle. I can also go and visit Nanna, Anna, Vadina, and Sri every day."
Vindhya chuckled, looking at her.
She shook her head and said, "You have gone so far. You guys didn't even propose to each other until now. And you are thinking about your life after the marriage."
Bhumi pouted and said, "So, what? I'm planning the future. If he doesn't propose to me, then I'll propose to him and drag him with me to the altar. Moreover, I have confidence in our love, and I believe that we can genuinely spend the rest of your lives together."
"But, what if the love he has for you has faded? Just what if he doesn't love you anymore?" Vindhya asked, looking at Bhumi.
Bhumi felt a pang in her heart while listening to it. Her eyes brimmed with tears.
She wiped away her tears and said, "Simple. He will marry the girl he loves. I'll be happy for them and try to move on from him."
"Can you? All these years, you have waited for the moment he expresses his feelings for you. Will you be able to move on from him and marry another man and lead a life with him?" asked Vindhya.
Bhumi gulped, listening to her.
"I don't know. I can't imagine a life without him. But if we aren't meant to be and destiny has something else sorted for us, what can we do other than accept it?" said Bhumi.
"Bhumi, I know he loves you. I can see it in his eyes. And I also know that you love him too. When you have feelings for each other, why didn't you express them?" asked Vindhya."I don't remember anything about my mother, Vindhya. I don't even remember her face properly. After her death, my father didn't even marry another woman and dedicated all his life to me and my brother. My life revolved around them. I expected that I could get some motherly warmth from my grandmother, but she hates me to the core. What was my fault if my mother hid her complications from the family? I didn't tell her to hide them. She chose to give birth to me despite the complications. When my brother told our family about Aditi, my grandmother was reluctant. But she stayed silent for the sake of my brother's happiness. But in my case, she will turn the world upside down to stop my marriage. I don't want her to point out Atharv. I can't take it. Yes, we may have never said "I love you" to each other. We may never have opened up about our feelings, but we have always expressed them through our actions. I told him that I don't want anyone in my family to point out something about him and look down on him. If we are meant to be, then I will be Mrs. Bhumi Atharv Murthy one day or another. If not, I don't know," Bhumi said, getting emotional.
