Me and Susamaru traveled in silence for the most part until I spoke up

"so... Did you mean your words or did you say them to save your ass back there" I asked in my usual tired way

Susamaru, who was walking beside me tilted her head to the side for a moment before she spoke up, now not being afraid of me

"I... Sorta meant it" she tried to explain, I could tell she was confused with emotions she felt

I nodded tiredly

"can you at least try to explain your process of thought?" I asked

She nodded slightly and looked down

"to be honest... Once I was on the ground I felt afraid but also warm inside... It was the first time I ever felt this way ever since I became a demon... Both fear and warmth where foreign to me. but at that moment I felt it clearely" she tried her best to explain

I chuckled slightly

"love is what you could be implying... Fear and pain come from love... Mostly" I explained my own opinion, hoping I didn't sound dumb

"what will you do once the demon slayer corps find out about me?" she asked while looking forward at the path in open fields that we took

"I guess I'll put my life on the line for you... I'll tell them that I'll commit seppuku if you eat a human... Also my sensei Motoyami Shinigumi will help, he was a former ice hashira" I explained as we walked

Susamaru turned to me with wide eyes

My eyes went fully wide as I stopped

We yelled at each other about Yami-Sensei's feat and how shocking it was as overtime we calmed down and arrived at the village where my mission was at...

But the bad thing was that the sun was beginning to rise

Susamaru started to panic

"oh no! I'll burn in the sun! I need to find shelter from the sun!" she shouted in a panicked tone

Without saying anything I grabbed her hand and ran into a motel nearby, as I rushed in I quickly placed the money on the receptionist table and snatched a key from him as me and Susamaru rushed into a nearby room and I quickly closed all means of sunlight
