The Darkness Hashira (demon slayer females x Male reader)

[13] Main Goal:survive... And Don't Fall Asleep

As we stared into each other's eyes, neither of us made a move... Until I saw upper moon 2 disappear in front of my eyes, I instantly gripped my katana tighter, closed my eyes and took a deep breath

"Darkness breathing, third form:calm state" I muttered as my face got stripped from all emotion and looked calm

I stared moving quickly and quietly as I finally saw the upper moon's punch flying toward me and managed to block it, the sheer force of his punched pushed me back slightly but my calmness didn't falter as I rushed back at him and exchanged some blows with him, after which I jumped back and my face became serious again

The upper moon chuckled

"hm, not bad, I can tell you're a hashira just like that girl... Before we continue, what's your name, slayer?" the demon asked with a chuckle

"I am Y/N" I said seriously

The demon nodded

"and I am Hale, upper moon 2 and the third strongest demon in existence, nobody other then Kokushibo and muzan has the power to stand up to me, anyways...pleasure to kill you" he said and looked at me as his face became comedically confused

Whilst he spoke I actually ended up falling asleep, he talked too slowly and seemed to LOVE chit-chatting

Hale cleared his throat and yelled at me

"AHEM! NOW IS NOT NAP TIME YOU SLOTH!" He shouted, waking me up

Kanae watched us from a distance with a comedic confused and shocked face, she probably didn't understand how I could fall asleep whilst facing such a powerful threat

As I fully woke up, I took a deep breath

" darkness breathing, Eigth Form:darkness dragon" I muttered and rushed at Hale

Hale only chuckled as his fists turned black

"blood demon art:hardened skin, air punches!" he shouted and started punching the air

The strength and speed of his punches created air punches which flew at me, but with my eight form darkness dragon, I managed to deflect most of the air punches while dodging the others.

By the time I got closer to the demon, I attempted to slash his leg but he jumped up and threw a punch at me which I dodged by leaning backward, then I tried to slash his outstretched arm but he moved it backward right on time and jumped back, landing in a crouch

We stared at each other for a few more seconds, probably calculating our next moves

'...my normal breathing forms can't even hit him, he's that much faster then I could ever be... I could use seventh form but I need to observe his close combat moves first'  I thought to myself and narrowed my eyes at Hale

Hale stood there, waiting for my move, maybe even silently mocking me for not being able to hit him

I took yet another deep breath as I spoke

"darkness breathing, first form:dark night" i said as we both rushed at each other

I started doing some weird and unpredictable moves, I would change the direction of my sword or stop swinging and change my slash  at the moments notice, fooling Hale momentairly  until he let   his  guard down, then i changed my stance and attempted to cut off his head, but he barred my katana slash with his fist, pushing us both back

'I need to observe him just a little more!' I shouted in my head and prepared another attack

"darkness breathing, second form:unknown darkness" I muttered

Just then i started moving quickly around  Hale and slashing him in random places, the places of the attack were random and even I didn't calculate or know where the slashes would land, I would throw them in random locations around Hales body for them to be harder to predict.

Though Hale matched my speed and started clashing with me, his fist being the only thing that connects to my katana. After about 2 minutes of nonstop clashing, he caught me off guard and threw a punch at my gut, I dodged by stepping back but what I didn't expect was an air punch to generate after his original punch as it implanted into my gut and pushed me meters away into the ground

I touched my gut and coughed up some blood, I could hear Kanae yelling out for me as I turned to her side and saw her attempting to stand up and keep fighting, while she was badly hurt she did manage to stand up sloppily and prepared to attack

But knowing that I already got the knowledge of Hale's fighting style that I needed, it was time to use the only technique I can in this time to hold Hale off till dawn

I stood up and smiled slightly, this being the first time I smiled in years as I took a deep breath

"darkness breathing, seventh form:shadows!" I accidentally yelled out loud, slightly excited to finally get to use this form

Hale rushed at me, he was excited to see my excitement and started throwing fast punches at me

Though I mimicked his punches with my katana and started to clash blows with Hale

Hale was surprised to say the least, to see someone matching him blow for blow, predicting his next move and clashing with it.

Our exchange went on for a few minutes, and while keeping up became harder over time, I didn't falter

In the end Hale tried to change his attack routes and started running around me and threw occasional punches at me which I'd barely manage to parry.

After some time of this, Hale appeared in front of me with an outstretched fist

"blood demon art:shockwave punch!" he screamed

As he threw his fist at me, all I could do is jump back, but even then I felt a force like no other launching me into a wall as I felt my entire body beggining to become bloody, my eyes, ears, nose.

I fell on my knees and coughed up blood, I slightly raised my hand just to see Kanae managing to slash off Hale's arm as his attention was deverted to me. Just then I realized that the dawn should soon enough arrive which meant that I couldn't stay down and let Kanae die

I stood up slowly, gripped my katana and started rushing at Hale, my speed getting increasingly faster the more I ran

"darkness breathing, special form:eminence of Darkness" I muttered

This was a special form of mine that I created literally in my dreams, but never got a chance to use it or practice it whilst awake, I moved very quickly  and slashed at Hale's neck before he could attack Kanae, Hale leaned back and dodged but as he did, I quickly changed the direction of my swing and started wildly swinging at him, or so it looked

In reality, even though my slashes where at full speed and looked like I swung wildly, each swing was fully calculated and much thought was put into every move

Hale tried to clash with me but after a few failed attempts, he resorted to dodging... After a bit of time I finally managed to cut off his arm as he jumped back and looked up, the sun was rising

"not bad... You held me off till sunrise, sloth... I respect that... But next time, prepare for a fight till death" Hale said and quickly ran away as his figure disappeared

I could make out voices of both Shinobu and Kanae, but I didn't care... At this point I was tired, I barely felt my wounds anymore as I fell to the ground and fell asleep
