[10] Cuddle Buddy #1 And A Female Giyuu?!

As we walked toward our next mission, morning came

But me and Susamaru weren't worried since we where in a really dark forest

"the demon could jump us at any moment since these woods are a perfect place for an attack... Be careful" I said as I tiredly scanned the area

Susamaru giggled

"relax man, demons can't kill other demons like me... I'm safe" she says confidently while beating on her chest with her fist

I sighed as I sensed a presance of two demons jumping at us from different directions

I glanced at Susamaru who glanced at her

In unison we gave each other a nod and headed into different directions

I effortlessly decapitated a weak demon as Susamaru played around with her weak demon opponent

Once I was done decapitating my demon, I came in and killed the one Susamaru was fighting

She pouted at me

"hey! I was having fun over here" she said with her pouting face

I sighed

"well it's our job to slay demons, not play around with them" I explained to her as she only nodded

"well... We should get some re-" Susamaru said but was interrupted as my tired crow Susanoo landed. On my shoulder

"CAW! head north... Village is in shambles" Susanoo said tiredly as always

I nodded at the crow as both me and Susamaru groaned

"man... You're supposed to be the weakest and lowest rank of demon slayer and yet you still get most missions" Susamaru said and pouted again

I sighed and started walking toward the direction where Susanoo's beck was pointing at

20 minutes into the journey Susamaru started a conversation

"so... How did you become so strong? What training did you undergo?" she asked curiously

I looked up tiredly for a moment in thought before responding

"well 100 push-ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats and a 10 mile run, then swinging katana above my head with perfect form for 2000 times and finish it off with total concentration breathing training" I said casually

Susamaru's mouth was wide open

"at this point you're more of a demon then I could ever become" she said honestly

I only shrugged and kept walking

Throughout our journey we engaged in small chit-chat until we arrived at the ruins of what I presume was once a beautiful village

I looked around and immediately felt a strong presence near me

I only had seconds to dodge which I did immediately as the demons attack missed and he jumped back, at that moment Susamaru turned in my direction in shock, having only now sensed the presence of the demon

Susamaru attempted to attack the demon but he grabbed her by her cheeks and lifted her up with an unimpressed look

"pathetic" he muttered as he threw her to the side

He turned to me as I slowly drew out my katana and noticed that one of his eyes had a Kanji engraved to it that said 'lower moon' and the other one that said 'four'

I scoffed, fighting lower moons already was a bother really

Suddenly his hand stretched like gum at increadible speeds, attempting to grab me as I jumped up to avoid it, in response the demons other arm stretched out toward me as I was mid air as I realized that now... I need to use my breathing styles

I took a deep breath

"Darkness breathing... Fifth form:black hole" I muttered

mid-air, I started spinning with my sword, creating a ball of slashes at I did so

With this form I managed to cut clean both the demons hands as he regenerated and prepared to do a stretched leg kick but before he did, he was bombarded with Temari balls which pushed him back

I landed in a crouch as I tiredly turned my head toward the direction where Temari balls came from and saw Susamaru with six arms throwing her Temari balls at the lower rank without stop

I nodded to myself and wanted to rush in to attack immediately but I saw the lower moons head fly off its neck as a woman landed in a crouch behind the lower moon and somewhat tripped and lost her sword, but her face didn't show any emotions whatsoever

I could only stare wide eyed as I realized who it was

'Giyuu.... IS A FEMALE?!' I yelled in my head as I watched her get back up and pick up her katana before pointing it at Susamaru

"water breathing..." she muttered and rushed at Susamaru with increadible speeds, Susamaru could only stare wide eyed, her eyes filled with pure fear

But before Giyuu could hit Susamaru, I appeared in front of her and blocked her katana with my own

She took a moment to understand what just happened, she was probably shocked at my speed matching hers

Moments later her face turned back to her expressionless one as she stared at me

"why protect a demon?" she asked calmly

I pushed her back as she jumped back and landed in a crouch

"because she is my companion, and have saved my life" I admit, only to get a dismissive shake of the head from Giyuu

"you're delusional" she said calmly

I didn't show any signs of anger at her comment as I spoke

"im willing to take responsibility for her... So back off" I said and narrowed my eyes, I could hear a gasp of surprise from susamaru from behind me

Giyuu stared at me for a second

"you're too kind, or too foolish for your own good" she said again

"it's my problem... Not yours" I said and narrowed her eyes

Suddenly giyuu sighs, her face still expressionless as she turned away from me

"normally I'd kill her or inform master... But you seem to posses speeds as great as mine or at least relative... And if I informed master he'd execute you for this... And losing a strong demon slayer like you would be a waste... Count yourself lucky, next time we meet I'll kill her" she says and vanishes

A few moments after Giyuu vanished, everything was calm until susamaru ran up to me and hugged me warmly

"you... You protected me" she exclaimed in shock as I hugged her back

"yeah because you're my companion" I explained as we hugged for a little while before she broke the hug

"okay... What do you want in return? I owe my life to you now" she said seriously

I sat up on the ground and leaned against a tree as I closed my eyes

"cuddle buddy..." I exclaimed tiredly and started falling asleep

I guess she got the idea and laid down next to me, cuddling into me as I fell asleep entirely
