She stares into the mirror with a heavy heart,
Her thoughts in a bungle that is tearing her apart,
She sees a girl who's lost and unsure,
Wondering who she is and what she's here for.
The reflection staring back at her,
A stranger that seems familiar,
She questions her gender, her identity,
Wishing for some clarity and certainty.
She wonders who she truly is,
Her thoughts and feelings caused a stir.
She questions what's right and what's wrong,
As tries to find where she truly belongs.
Yet in this confusion and fight,
She begins to see a glimmer of light,
A hope that she can be true to herself,
Embrace her uniqueness, her real self.
She takes a deep breath and makes a choice,
To be authentic, to find her own voice.
To explore, to experiment and discover,
The person she is meant to be and be no other.
And as she embarks on this journey that is new,
She begins to see glimpses of herself, so true,
She finds her strength, her courage and might,
And embraces the girl she truly is, in her own light.
