They were finally in a familiar setting.
While the Doodlesphere was magnificent, there was something comforting about his Au.
Blue missed his Au, especially his brother. He hadn’t been able to visit as often as he used to because of his missions as a Star Sans.
He sighed in relief at the sight of his house, and gently led Ink to the front door.
He raised his hand to knock on the door.
Knock
Knock
Knock
He smiled softly when he heard slow footsteps. And smiled brightly when the door opened.
He didn’t hesitate when he hugged his brother tightly. Finding comfort in the familiar scent of honey. He hugged tighter when he felt his brother’s arms around him.
He opened his eyes and looked up at his younger brother, grinning fully.
“Hey, paps! Mind if I bring a visitor?”
---
They were all sitting in the living room.
Carrots was staring at Ink with a calculating look, while Ink stared back without a hint of nervousness. Blue, oblivious to their staring contest, got up to make dinner. Leaving Carrot and Ink alone.
Carrot was suspicious of Ink. He always was when it came to other sanses and his brother. While Blue was the older one, Carrot was definitely the more protective one of the two. In contrast to the original universe.
He felt that one sans putting his brother in harm's way was bad enough, what if Ink was the same?
He also felt like something was off about Ink. He wasn’t sure what, and he didn’t intend to find out.
As Carrot was about to speak, Blue walked in and called them over for dinner.
He sighed at the interruption and got up. Ink followed behind him as he headed toward the kitchen.
---
Okay so maybe he was a bit worried about Ink.
He couldn’t help but worry when Ink said some concerning things. It also doesn’t help that Ink reminds him of Blue.
“The food is for me?” was one of the first questions Ink asked. He sounded so confused. He then followed up that question with: “Wow! I haven’t eaten in years, literally…” he said, chuckling at his own joke. However, both brothers took quick glances at each other. Blue is worried and Carrot is questioning( he refuses to admit to being worried as well).
They were brought back to their senses when they realized Ink was done with the full meal. Ink gave them a questioning look at their response, which was them trying(and failing) to make coherent sentences.
Suddenly, Blue yelled.
“OMG, I FORGOT ABOUT DREAM!”
---
After calming down(Ink started running around looking for a hiding spot), Blue was dialing Dream’s phone in the living room. Leaving them alone again, this time, however, Carrot wasn’t glaring at Ink.
“Tell me more about your Au!” Ink suddenly exclaimed out of nowhere. He was shocked as he wasn’t expecting Ink to speak. In fact, Ink had been quiet and seemed to prefer to observe.
“Uhh, why?” he asked. Why would Ink want to know about their Au?
“It’s been so long since I’ve visited an Au! And there are so many new universes to learn about!” he said, kicking his legs back and forth on his chair.
“I see. Well, from what I can tell, our universe is where we have swapped roles. I behave like the sans of the original universe, and San-Blue acts like the original Papyrus. Everyone else also has swapped roles, but I’m too lazy to list them all.” he gave a small smile.
“Wow! Do you know any other Au’s!” Ink said, louder than he’s ever been. It was clear Ink had an interest in the alternative universes, while he had not. “Ehh, not really” he finally responded, knowing full well that he knew many, he just didn’t want to talk about them.
“Aww, bummer…” Ink deflated in his seat. He just shrugged in response.
“Hey, don’t worry about it bud”
At that moment, Blue walked in.
“Hey, guys! I just finished talking with Dream! He said he was coming in a few minutes.” Blue announced.
Carrot glanced at Ink, expecting him to look excited or nervous at the mention of a new friend. However, Ink’s eye lights were nowhere to be seen in his eye sockets. His face was blank but he was shaking.
He threw up.
---
After cleaning the mess up(which was mostly Blue because he didn’t want to do it himself), they moved back to the living room.
“What was that?” Carrot asked.
“He did that when I first met him…” Blue responded, probably also unsure.
“Oh! I do that whenever I feel a strong emotion, negative or positive!” Ink informed.
“Does it happen often?” Blue asked the question he had as well.
“Yep!” Ink answered. Blue and Carrot shared a glance, they’re gonna have to do a lot of cleaning.
A portal sound was heard and they all turned to face it. The portal was bright and yellow, matching who came through the portal.
Dream.
