There sat Yn, at the rooftop bench in the middle of the night sighing at how miserable her life had become over the past few days....

A few weeks ago...

It was yet another day in the office, where the 7 of us were enjoying each others presence, putting aside our worries and our ranks in the office.

Us 7 (+1, who is now at his college) have been best of friends for more than a decade now....

V's phone buzzed with a call. Upon seeing the caller ID he excuses himself taking his lunch tray along to dispose it.

"Must be his girlfriend" Suga, my direct boss, the manager of our department, most of all one of my 7 best friend says.
We nod along knowing how paranoid V and Jimin get around their girlfriends...

"Reminds me... I'll have to call my girlfriend. Bye guys" Jimin too leaves.

"Those are good times" Jin huffs a sigh of disappointment...

"Aigoo... Just start dating again Jin" I say giving him a little nudge...

"Whatever" The eldest says as he too walks away... Avoiding the topic of his love life like he always does.

"Why does he always do that!?" Rm questions.

Ignoring Rm's question, Suga fixes his suit jacket and looks at me...
"Miss Yn. When's our next appointment with the sponsors!? "

"Next Monday. Mr Min" I say... Knowing well that he's getting back into his professional demor, which means we should too.

" See you guys in the evening " J Hope says smiling at us as we head back to our desks.

People in our office initially wouldn't have expected us to even know each other because, inside this building we are only co workers, it was only a few weeks after Jimin and V entered the company we decided to sit together for lunch.
And needles to say people were surprised to find out we've been best friends for years and even live together.

"I miss them"

"Who!? your Hyungs and Noona?" Eun, my friend from college looks at me intently.

"Of course. It's them." Eun nods "I really want to graduate and join into kil corporations, to work with them, that too, as soon as possible"

"Don't worry, My friend. You gotta hang in there for a few more months. Then we'll graduate and you can work with them. "

"That's too long of a time , though" I pout.

Dinner time... Yn Pov

"You're Home, just in time for dinner JK" J-hope passes his bowl of rice and proceeds fetch another one. Jk smiles  and sits down at the table.

"How was the date!?" Jin asks while sitting down on the table while the rest had already started their dinners..

"It was amazing. We went to the park nearby and spent the whole day walking around and talking... " Jk is the second most excited when he talks about Borah, his girlfriend of almost a year. We all love that girl. She's the most loving and nice person I've met. She also gets along with the rest of us... There's really nothing to dislike about her.

One thing I'm really glad about is that. Despite being friends for years, we never run out of topics to talk about...
Sometimes it's our love lives...
Sometimes it's our office/college life...
Sometimes it's our time with our other friends...
Sometimes it's a drama we watched or a book we read...
We always have something to talk about.
And even if we don't, it's comfortable.
I think that's what kept our bond strong for this long.
And that's what's gonna keep us together for years and decades to come...

The next afternoon

"Hmm" My only girl and work friend moans as she takes a bit of her food.

I have known Nari since she entered the company, but only grew closer to her after she became a permanent employee.

As an employee she's diligent and hard working... As a person she is nice. But unlike others, she doesn't stand the bullsh*t of people. Even our superiors... Our ex manager, the one before Suga, was an absolute ass. He stole the employee's idea and treated everyone obnoxiously...

While everyone sat around going along his sh*t. Nari, who was an intern then , reported him to higher ups and he soon got fired. It was a mess back then, Mr Choi got so mad and even caught her by the collar. I and Suga had to step in to stop it from going any more destructive.

After it all happen. We felt stupid for not doing reporting him ourselves earlier...

That was when Suga got promoted to the manager and i became the assistant manager.

Having Nari as my friend is great... I love talking to her. Though I can/do talk about anything and everything with my guy friends... This just feels different. And i get some quite time with her. Unlike my always chaotic Best friends.

"Thank you for treating me to lunch today" She smiles at me.

"It's cool. It's always nice having lunch with you."

"Have you heard anything about the new heir of the company!? " Nari questions me.

"They are rumors saying he's already an employee here. He's handsome and what not!?"She just nods along looking a little pissed

" Everything good!? " I ask her.

"Yep. It's just that how do people know that person yet!? I doubt anyone has seen him or her. "

"That's true" I gotta agree. We have no news of our upcoming CEO, let alone seen him/her.

I was the last one to get off of work. When I got into our car. Their a stiff awkward air in the car. Not even a clueless person like me could miss it.

The car ride back home was usually filled with chaos and comfort... But today it was filled with pin drop silence

Soon we picked up Jk back from his college. He too sensed the tension in the car and whispered to me "Did something happen!? "

"I don't know. Everything was fine this morning... And I had lunch with Nari. So i wouldn't know if anything happened. " I whispered back in a single breathe.

Silence was never a bad thing for us... It was quite common actually. But this was different. It was uncomfortable and suffocating. You could tell we weren't talking, not because we were tired or ran out of things to talk about but because we didn't want to... More like they didn't want to. Because I and Jk, had no clue what was going on.

This silence was scaring me...
