Chapter 36

The whole day Michael kept getting notes after notes which freaked him out a bit. He hoped it would be one of Chris's silly jokes. After school, Michael went to his workplace and worked there until 6:30pm. Michael started going home slowly as he was thinking about the notes he kept finding wherever he went. Michael reached his home and see that all the lights were off so he thought to himself

Michael's thought - Looks like everyone is busy with something tonight. I hope mom kept something to eat. Tonight I will go to Prince house and if he is available I will ask him

Michael takes a deep breath and enter the house. Suddenly there was pop sound and the lights got on and Michael see Morris, Van, Chris and Prince. Chris, Prince, Morris and Van say

Chris, Morris, Prince and Van - Happy 16th birthday Mikey/Michael/Mike (happily smiling 😀😃😄😁)

Michael - So this was happening behind my back

Chris - What did you think?

Michael - Nothing (shakes his head).... I thought I'm going to celebrate my birthday alone this year

Morris - That won't happen until we are with you buddy

Chris - Come and cut the cake

Prince noticed that Michael wasn't himself so he thought to ask him later when they were alone. After cutting the cake, they talk for a while, while having the cake. Morris say

Morris - Let us go guys

Chris - Yeah let us leave this love birds alone (teasingly)

Prince - Nothing is like you guys say

Van - Don't lie to us

Van, Morris and Chris left the house. Prince holds Michael's hand, kiss his hand and ask

Prince - What is it babyboy? You are acting differently. Is everything okay? (worried and concerned tone)

Michael hugs Prince tightly and cries. Prince hugs Michael and ask

Prince - Hey, what happened? Why are you crying? (softly)

Michael - I thought you got bored of me and you wanted to end our relationship

Prince rubs his back with a chuckle and say

Prince - Tic for tac

Michael - I told you my sorry for what I did (complaining childishly)

Prince makes Michael to sit on his lap and say

Prince - Tell me what happened

Michael - I thought you were going to break up with me like Eddie said

Prince - What did Eddie say? (seriously)

Michael - He said you got bored of me and you are going to dump me today

Prince - You believed him? (a little bit upset tone)

Michael shakes his head and say

Michael - I didn't but after you didn't pick up my calls and did not talk to me for past few days I thought....

Prince got everything and kiss on his lips and say

Prince - Mikey,.... I already told you before I am only yours and you are only mine, rest of our lives

Michael - Did you even come to school? I did not see you at all

Prince - I did come to school but you were preoccupied with the notes I kept leaving you every now and then

Michael - So it was you who did that? (🤨)

Prince - Yes. (nodes his head with a smile 🙂) I loved seeing you reading the notes and reacting to it

Michael - You are a real meanie

Prince - How?

Michael - At least I let you to see me on your birthday

Prince - I was preparing for your present

Michael - What is it? (excitedly and curiously)

Prince - I won't say it but show it.... Now go to your room and get ready

Michael - Ok

Michael went to his room and see a shopping bag on the bed. He see in the bag and see some clothes and smile ☺ and went in the bathroom and took a quick shower and got ready and went down to the living room and see Prince was dressed in green shirt, brown pant and black boots. Michael say

Michael - You look great

Prince - You look great too

Michael was wearing a red shirt, black and white checked pant and blue shoes 👟. Michael smile 🙂 and say

Michael - Thanks.... I thought I would look like a joker but it is great on me after I saw myself on the mirror

Prince - Shall we go now?

Michael - Please tell me where are we going (requesting tone)

Prince - No! (shakes his head)

Suddenly they hear a honking and Prince say

Prince - There comes our taxi

Michael - Now I am very much curious to know where are you going to take us

Prince - You get in the taxi first and you will know soon

Michael and Prince got in the cab and the driver ask

Taxi driver - Ready to go sir? (seeing Prince)

Prince - Yes (nodes his head)

Cab taxi - It will take a while to reach there

Prince - Take your time sir as we are not in hurry

Michael - Now you are torturing me (annoyed tone)

Prince - If you want your birthday present then you got to wait patiently

Michael - Fine, I will wait

Prince - Where's your family?

Michael - Grandpa's sick so everyone went there to see him

Prince - Why you did not go? (seeing Michael)

Michael - I didn't want to miss the tests on History, English, Language and Maths (looking out of the window) Will you pass today's test? (seeing Prince)

Prince - Don't turn into a tutor now (irritated tone)

Michael chuckles and Prince say

Prince - I will get a B

Michael - That sounds good to hear.... Did you go to job?

Prince shakes his head and say

Prince - I took leave today

Michael - What did you say them?

Prince - My dad's in hospital because of a accident so I have to stay there with him in the hospital

Michael eyes widened in shock 😲 and Prince see him and say

Prince - Don't worry about them finding out, dad's out of town again for a business trip (casually)

Michael - Prince you are going to get busted one day with your lies

Prince - You worry alot

Michael - I don't want you to get into trouble that's all

Prince - I won't Mike so don't worry

There was silence for few minutes. Half an hour later, Michael gets shocked 😲 to see where Prince has bought him.
